antenna compensator
I'm getting vague answers from STF, but would the compensator in the car work with CDMA phones?
Also, would it just be better to connect the compensator to the antenna directly, bypassing the antenna switch? (I don't have any use for teleaid)
OEM: cell phone->compensator->antenna switch->teleaid/antenna
My plan: cell phone->compensator (maybe get aftermarket)>antenna

I have not opened one, but from looking at a "compensator" it appears to be a linear amplifier. The amp seems to be only for time division multiple access analog systems. This TDMA analog service has all but been switched off. It only used a single band. Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) is a three band fully digital system.
I am not certain that an external car antenna is necessary anyhow. Cell towers in urban areas are close enough that a good gorilla could swing cell to cell without touching the ground. It's digital, so you either have signal or you don't.
I know you'd like to juge the button on the wheel and say "hello", but it just seems easier to use a headset and tug on your ear to say "hello."

I think you are correct, it is not worth it. I was thinking of running a cable from my htc ppc6800 phone RF output to increase the range, but not really worth it. GPS in the phone will probably not benefit either.
Instead, I'm probably going to disconnect the antenna to help reduce the interference with my venturi mini fm transmitter (supposedly)
