HELP.. Got my 19"s! But there is a problem!

Just got my 19" Carlsson 2/5 installed (19x8 with 235/35 tires). I love the looks. But when I turn extreme right (or left), the front tire is contacting with the car (see 2nd picture below). What should I do to fix it!!?? Thanks!

what is the tire size? if you went higher than a 235 size tire, or larger than an 8" wheel; that may be the problem

Yeah, what tires are you using, it has to do with the design of the tires. And also, you have the Cup Kit, thats another problem, the car is too low.

I think there is nothing much that you can do except to get a different set of tires, or change the suspension, or change the wheels!! Pretty scrary, huh? :p Just kidding!!

Bring it to a bodyshop and see if they can do something about the panel behind the bumper (the panel that the tires are touching).

Did you roll your fender?
if you haven't, i think rolling fender will solve your problem!
My cousin also have Carlsson 2/5 on his C320 with 8" on the front using 235 tires, and he has no problem with it

your car looks really nice. Just roll your front fenders. You will be OK.

The car comes with a tire diameter of 25", your 235/235/19 works out to 25.5" diameter. This plus the lowering are causing your problems.

You can deal with this by either raising the car a bit or going back to 18" wheels so you can use a tire with a diameter of 25"

how wide are your rims? if they are 8.5" then you can use 225/35/19 tires on them. the problem is not with the diameter of the rims (19") but with the width of the tires. go to a tire shop and see if they can squeeze 225's on the front. try it and see if it works. other than that, go to a body shop and see if they can fix it a little.

i used 19x8 and 235/35 for the front with 35 offset, before i cut the spring it was no problem at all (30mm lowered), no rubbing at all.

C class front fender is easy to roll and flare, mine is flared 10mm and the lips also rolled for a cheap price.

By the look from the picture, it doesn't rub the fender but rub the inner part of it!!, if u do roll and flare your fender you might end up using spacer to clear the wheel from the inner part

I also have a Carlsson 1/5 Diamond Edition. And my frond tires is 225/40/18. My is in 18" those. For the C class the front tires cannot go over 235. The reason that u are rolling your fender now might cause by the lowering of your car.
Try raise it up a little, or change the two front tires.
Hope your ride will be fix soon.

So by doing the "roll fenders" would fix the problem?

maybe not, which part is it rubbing?? if u rub the fender then fender rolling will help, but your picture show that it rub the inside part so u may need spacer to clear that,. And u will be needing fender roll to use spacer

gee....cut the springs? cup the suspension mounts?

replace your front springs with stock and you'll have enough clearance...but sacrifice the gangsta lean

or....rip out the plastic inside the fender and watch the dealer laugh as they tell you your warranty is void

The one with the rubbing problems doesn't have cut springs; it's lowered with H&R Cup Kit.

Ironically the one who doesn't is the one who does.

I've had the exact same problem happen to me. It is not the fenders at all. I went to my shop to get the problem looked at and they said that the cheapest solution is to just let the tire eat away at your wheel well. I did this for a while and everything is fine now. My shop told me that no damage other than your wheel wells will occur. If you're **** about the way your wheel wells look then you would have to switch tires, but if you don't care, just let it eat at it. If you want, e mail me and I will take picutres of my wheel wells. BTW, I have 19" 2/5 Carlsson's also riding on 235/35/19 F and 265/30/19 R. You could also have a shop cut away at your wheel well or hammer it down (if its made of metal, I have a w202) Either way, it will not damage your suspension, (is what my shop told me)

if it's me, i would change the tire to 225/35 front and sell the 235/35 while it's still relatively new.
