How do you like the new CLK or the SL grille Jim??
Yes, your grille does look similar to those, but there is just something about it on a little C class that doesn't fit. The CLK and SL's grille's seem to slant back more than our grille. Maybe its just an optical illusion, but the more slanted grille seems to take away from the star's height on those other cars. That SL500... droooool

Jay has got euro spec headlights (not UK Jay; otherwise you would blind all uncoming traffic!)

The US bi Xenon pattern has less light uotput as the euro ones.

euro pattern

US pattern

greetingz,
Steve, mine has an upward angle on the left. I got the UK spec ones.

better not get caught by the police. i think it's illegal to have a right-hand drive headlight in the states.

the light pattern of th left-hand drive car has longer distance on the right hand side of the car. the right-hand drive car is the opposite. so if you have the UK version, your headlight will light up the on coming traffic lane instead of your own lane.

Not a problem Frank,

It could be taken cared of by adjusting them lower.

but then, it won't work as good as the left hand drive bi-xenon.

Actually as far as lumens go, the E-code lamps do not put out more light than the US spec lamps. Instead, the beam pattern is slightly different in that the E-code lamps tend to be more focussed, with slightly more well defined hotspots but with a beam which is less broad. In N.America, our overhead or side street signs tend to be unlit unlike in Europe, therefore this is why a wider/more even beam pattern is specified...different needs for different regions.

Contacted Steve, I do have the Euro spec lights and not the UK spec.

Steve told me that there was a white in color flip inside the D2B housing that you could get to easily to control which headlight, either left or right has the upward arch.

US spec ones do not have this.

I was playin' around with this and I had both of them with an upward arch; sheesh, I was blinding people.

I decided just to flat line them, meaning to take the arch out of both. I'll post pics at my earliest convenience.

Jay
