Jeez man, I'm glad everyone's alright Jordan. Man, safety is always key in a car, and I'm glad none of us have to worry about safety with our cars' durability. And for your manager, screw her, you should report that to someone because you're supposed to have the ability to leave in a family emergency.

oh wow this reminds me of the worst accident i was involved in. i was sitting in a CRV and it not only turned upside down, it rolled down a ramp and made a few 360s and i flew out of the car in the middle of flipping ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
and all 4 of the passangers in that CRV were fine not seriously injured too...
thank god your family/friends were alright man...thats the most important thing!

btw, i got a question guys... if their insurance are going to pay, are they going to pay back my "current resale value"?
because i just check KBB my SLK worth only about $44k(2007 model) while we got it for almost $62k(2008) model..

Insurance companies will make you jump through hoops to prove diminshed value and have plenty of ways to deny it. But diminished value only applies to cars damaged then rebuilt.
In this case, the SLK is totalled. The insurance company will give you fair market value for the car, not what you owe. You might be able to argue for more based upon mileage and options (which I recommend you do.) Go to sites on the internet such as TraderOnline or Cars.com and see if you can collect SLKs for sale at a price close to what you paid or owe. In this instance, if you don't have Gap Insurance, you're likely to get a settlement that will still have you owing the bank on a car that you no longer own. I know this as my '03 Murano was totalled when it was brand new and it still cost me a few grand out of my pocket to settle the loan on the car.

SO if they find 10 cases involves the SLK being total-lost and the settlement they paid was on par with the market value chances are you will get market value for it. however if the cases they compare it to had ****ty settlement then you'll probably get a ****ty settlement as well.
as said by rtking, I hope you guys bought the Gap Insurance when you leased the car.

that's a good point, wait to contact your relatives until you're at the controlled environment.
Glad everyone's okay, very sorry about the car. But please, when you crash, DO NOT invite relatives to the scene.
I work 911. Some of the stories are beyond hideous. Try to keep your head, and let the emergency people do their jobs. Call everyone once you're away from the scene.

Have the ins.company add : sales taxes, licence tab (if the car mileage is lower than normal + mileage too).
Recently my boy was rear end (06 Lexus IS350 fully load), high mileage (37K miles). the IS is totaled, Ins.company agreed only $32K, his lawyer fight them at the end, he got the check of $35900 (for 2 years old car with 37K miles). Ins. com. never want to pay you more, you have to fight for any $ gain. Regards.

There's a crash bar, if it gets bent you must replace, not repair the door.
So, I bit the bullet and got it replaced, not repaired, full price, 2500 bucks.
But if it saves my life, money well spent.
Once again, glad everyone was OK.
Wow, thats scary, upside down and all.
Good thing the top was up.
