Non-MB Calgary Mechanic & Lubrico Warranty

I'm wondering if there are any Calgarians out there that have had work done at an authorized service center (ie. not an MB Dealer).

I've called Riegel Tuning and Sheni's Auto-Trend for A-Service quotes, both saying around $200.

Hyatt wants $350 so if anyone has experience with either of the two mentioned, I'd love to hear about their experience.

I bought an extended warranty through Lubrico, and they require that an oil change be performed every 5,000 or 3 months, with DIY not allowed.

So another question is, does anyone have a Lubrico warranty and what is your experience with them?

Thanks.

Yes, but all of my 10 or so Benzes over the past 40 years have been USED cars -with no warranty. (with the exception of the 1981 380 SLC - which was so underpowered that I had a European 500 engine installed, as soon as the warranty had expired.) There are several independent MB shops in Calgary - What was the price that Lone Star quoted you?? I have had excellent experience with them..Enjoy your Benz.

Thanks for the response, Lonestar quoted me the same as Hyatt, $300-350. Which seems pretty high compared to the others I called. Is it really worth it to have MB work on your car?

Either way I still think it sucks that Lubrico is making me do an oil change every 5000 km. This is my first benz and my first car that I've had a warranty on so I guess it's all a learning experience.

Take a look at the manual and most of the items on the "A" checklist can be done by yourself.
I personally don't trust the dealerships up here, especially LS. If you really can't do it yourself I would just bring it back to Hyatt.
