CHeapest Lowering???

Looking for the cheapest way to lower my car.. even if I just lower the front. The rear sits at a decent height for me. But I'm putting my 18's on reall soon and i wanna lower the front asap.

Please give me suggestions. I wanted coilovers.. but at this point in time, they are too expensive. I'm a broke @$& %&*#@ right now. I was thinking lowering springs for front only.

Anyway Cheapest way that gives the best lowered look... lemme know what you think.
Thanks in advance.

nothing 'cheaper' than cutting the springs tho it's not recommended...

Tein S. Tech springs... Is it possible to just install the springs in the front and leave the back stock without any bad side effects? Or is that not recommended.

And Kev, How much of a drop did you do in the front/rear? you have the S techs also? just curious. because yours looks good and low enough without being too low.

and no.. im not gonna cut the springs.

Well, you're going to have to buy all 4 springs anyways, and I doubt it's recommended to do that...might as well install all 4.

Yeah, I have the Tein S.Tech springs in. I haven't measured the exact drop, but it's supposed to drop 1.6" in the front and 1.1" in the rear for a C320.

Is @ Home
Hide some bricks in the engine bay...

Install some spring compressors on the front.

Cutting/heating springs would be the cheapest method but not sure why anyone would want to risk something as crucial as the suspension components.

Let some air out of the tires, then roll low and slow.

i know many guys who cut their springs, so all i can say is that if u do it right ur handling and driving will stay intact. of course dont expect the results of a new set of springs, but u can do it with no risk.. and if u change ur mind... buy then the new springs...

I'd say....save your money of having a shop cut your springs....and then get H&R or Eibach lowering springs. You'll be happier with the look and ride.

Lowering the front is a half~a$$ job with your end sticking up.

I'm sure there are members on this forum or the other one that will part with lowering springs a a reduced cost.

i know a place here which manufactures springs.. and one of the services they offer is compression.
$60 per spring... they do it all.... compress, re-tension and cut the ends so they have a nice finish to it (unlike cutting the damn thing!).
all for $60 per spring! even comes with 7yr warranty. place is called springworks.
im sure u'd have someone that does the same there in the sates.

sorry. I haven't been online much these past few days.

Thanks for all the responses.

I decided to go with the Tein S.Tech springs since they aren't too expensive and offer a larger drop for the front compared to most other options.

so any further feedback on the cheapest form of lowering? i guess the concensus is that no matter if even .6" new shocks will eventually be needed?
