obviously, but how? im having difficulty with them
1) id appreciate a visual from someone who knows how to reset them
and
2) id really like to avoid the trip to the dealer and the maintenance cost as well
( i called and its like a 60 $ charge for something i could do myself and takes a couple of hours for them to do?!? )
If you guys can wait another few days, perhaps until after Christmas, I may have the solution for you. I've take some photos of my car to make my explanation clearer and since I can't attach it here. I'm trying to put them up in Flickr or something like that so that all of you can access it whilst reading my explanation.Actually, the solution is simple enough, so I hope I'm not barking up the wrong tree.
Yes, I know its not a C230 or a W203. I have a 230E and an E280 both 124s and they are both similar, except that the E280's head restraints are electronically controlled, whilst the 230E's are manual. I just thought that they would also be similar for other models as well. Sorry if I'm wrong.
Billbugger,
hehehehe, yes, I was going to write something last night, but it was already very late and I didn't feel like it. Still haven't got around to doing it yet. Maybe later tonight or sometime tomorrow. Thanks for your positive comments.Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone.
The OP was asking about the pre-safe headrests on the 2006+ W203. These are different from the headrests found in cars up until 2005. Also in the W203, there is no button to release the headrests in any year. In models up to 2005, you can just pull up to have the headrests release. In the 2006+ models, you have to unscrew 2 torx screws at the bottom of the seat back, remove the seat back to undo a metal clip to get the headrests off. There may be some differences to this if you do or do not have full power seats.
This all still dosen't address the pre-safe question.
Brian
, looks like I AM barking up the wrong tree, so I won't be doing any writing on this subject anymore.Merry Christmas.
