Coupe A/C Problem + Running Hot: Help!
My 2002 C-230 is having an AC problem that correlates with the engine running hot.
When driving slowly or stopped in moderately hot weather, the engine temp climbs rapidly to 120 Celsius, and I get a warning that I should turn the car off.
Also, as of late my AC has not been performing like normal. It blows hot air if the car is stopped or driving slow. It only gets cold if I am moving quickly (40 mph+). It seems like the car runs hot, as described above, when I'm idling with the AC on.
Any idea as to what this could be? Thanks!

My 2002 needs to have the engine turning fairly fast to get cold air, at least to start with. Maybe it needs a recharge? doesn't work as good as it once did, but it will get very cold just takes longer.
The overheating? Well, yeh I'd check the rad fan, water pump etc.
Is the belt slipping? How old is the belt?
Once belt driving ac and coolant as well as power steering.
The other is SC and alt.
