Monroe struts and shocks on a Benz?

They're about half the price of oem and made in Europe, at least the rears are for the coupe. I really want Koni Sports, but almost $700 shipped is a little hard to swallow. All I want is a slightly more damped ride than stock. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

I didn't even know Monroe made shocks for our cars. You'd probably be the first on the forums to try them!

I would go to other car forums and ask others what they thought of Monroe Shocks. I hope the best for you, but something tells me this is not a good idea.

If you get the input of a Toyota owner, don't misinterpt that to be a how you would want it to handle.

Yeah the price of shocks alone is what drove me to go with CO's.
Matched springs and shocks.
You can get matched set of shocks and springs for about the same price.
H&R Cupkit, and also Vogtland makes a nice set for about $550.

My pops has monroe shocks on his firebird. The lifetime warranty was very useful for him because he put them on about 4 years ago and were not doing their job this past summer so we used the lifetime warranty and got a new set for free and all we did was show a receipt and give them the old set back.

I dunno if changing out the suspension every four years is worth it :x

Where did you find the $550 Vogtlands? The cheapest I can find for CO's are a little over a grand. Thanks.

The American wife's '04 Audi TT had Monroes as OEM. They weren't doing too bad at 60k when replaced with Koni FSDs.

For the OP last Thanksgiving, a new set of anyone's shocks on a five-year-old car will make it feel like a flying carpet. Monroes should last an easy fifty-thousand miles, and how long are you going to keep this car?

I don't think that was CO's, that was something like a cup kit, with matched springs and shocks.
Yeh, cheapest CO's are the TIEN basics, around 750 + ship + tax+ install....
