Exhaust tip hanging a little low.....need your help!
after being rear ended, I got the car back from the body shop and it seems that the exhaust tip is hanging a little low and sticks out more than it used to. The body shop that did the repair (Mercedes dealer shop) says that it was not even touched during the repair and the impact only effected the bumper and trunk lid. They did'nt even tape off the chrome tip when they painted as it was covered with over spray. ....morons...
Question is.........is there a way to adjust the way the pipe/tip hangs without a major hassle? All I can see is the stock hangers that appear to have no adjustments other than bending the hanger that's welded to the muffler/resonator.

i find it hard to believe that you were rearended and it did nothing to the exhaust. are all of the lines/gaps good for the bumper cover? if not- then the exhaust isn't suspect- it's the work of the body shop. either way an exhaust shop should be able to hook your up pretty quickly/cheap. they could heat the hanger and bend it.
just noticed you are from the STL- which mercedes dealer did you go to? plaza? i can't stand those snoody turds there.

Yes, exactly any muffler shop can help.
Send the reciept to the ins. company.
Shouldn't cost more than $50 if even that much.
They can bend, cut, shorten, lengthen the hangers as needed.
Mine hangs to low after I had a Magnaflow cat put on....
shoulda said something, as now the local shop wants 50 to fix it, and it's not that bad.

Yea, had Plaza do the work even though I had second thoughts. I was concerned about other shops being able to match the Iridium Silver.
Bought the car at Tri Star as I can not stand the sales people at Plaza.
Thanks for the replys. All of the bumper gaps are all perfect and the exhaust tip may have been hanging like this all along and I'm just now getting picky about how it looks. No one else would even notice.

Plaza salesman p!ssed me off- hence the reason I went all the way to Miami to get my car. I went in there (24 at the time) and told them what I wanted- more or less a new, base model C230 with a 6spd.
Salesman- "Do you think someone your age needs a car like that?"
Me- (kinda pissed)- "Excuse me?"
Salesman- "Yeah- you're pretty young and that car's pretty expensive"
Me- (really pissed that this point)- "First off- what do you care if I can afford it- you still get the sale even if it is repo'd. Second off- you don't know me, and I'm willing to bet I make more money than you do at my part time job- let alone my full time job. What- am I trying to buy an S Class? I've got money that I would like to buy this car with- I will gladly spend it elsewhere" and then rolled out. i remember that as vividly as my drive home from work today. i hate yuppies more than anything. that guy was such a chode.
Worked out for the best though. I found my car in Miami from a broker that deals in repo'd high end cars (mine being the cheapest he had). It had 12xx miles on it, plastic still in the floors, and still smelling new- for about $7k less than Plaza wanted. I flew to Miami via Southwest for $100. They picked me up at the airport and went to his spot. I signed all the papers and left. I stayed at my aunt's house on the beach a little ways north (Cocoa Beach) for a week. Then drove it home- $100 in gas. Overall- I got a new car for much less than asscake at Plaza would have given it to me for- and I got a vacation out of the deal.
