Smart Key Question: Gut swap? old internals in the new 06/07 chrome case?

long story short...... lost my newer chrome key...

before buying a new one... i was wondering if anyone knew if the guts/internals of the old solid black key could be put inside the new chrome case?

anyone know? anyone willing to take their keys apart to compare the internals?

-thanks

Won't work. For one, you probably noticed that key are different shaped. Battery placement is different and blade placement is changed. You ever heard of the "round peg in the square hole"? Well, here you go.
