2007 C230 Auxilary Audio Input?
I have a 2007 C230 that I just got. I would like to use a zune or something to input music. Does this car have any wired in auxiliary inputs and if so, what type? Where are they, etc?
My car does NOT have Navigation or the premium audio. It has the standard radio with numeric buttons on the right and the volume on the left.
Thanks!

Sorry as far as I know for the 07 with Audio 20, no aux input...it was present in some of the previous C-classes and maybe for the 07 with command. Also any instructions you may find is not applicable to the 07 C230.
Only choice with stock is to get a mercedes ipod kit (not really a choice for you and the zune) or go with an aftermarket setup that will add a aux input like the itronic

Thanks for the post, but as I am reading it I do not see how I can find out for sure if I have the ability to do this or not without taking apart my car.
I just need to find out if there is an existing aux in or if I can add one cheaply without any modifications, other than plugging something in.
I have the stereo with the 6 disk changer in the glovebox. My stereo has the phone controls and numbers on the right side with the seek and volume, etc on the left. It is a standard display with no color or anything.
Sorry, I am SO new to MB and all that goes with them.
I am thinking of getting the Motorola T604. Any opinions on that? Is there a wiring harness for the T604 to go into the 2007 C230?
Sorry for all the questions, but I am just trying to find out what to buy without having to take my car apart. Once I get the parts ordered and in, then taking the car apart will be easier....or I will have it installed.
I just want good quality handsfree cell coverage and the ability to stream audio into my factory system without any bad quality stuff like FM Modulator.
Thanks!

FYI, I just tried to look at my car in comparison to the guide posted in that thread in pdf format.
I was able to get the strip pulled out, but could not get the kick panel area plastic to come out. I pulled hard, but was afraid it would break. So I was only able to see wires up to the point that the kick panel plastic starts. I saw no whit plugs up to that point.
Anyone know how to get that panel out without breaking it? There seems to be some sort of latch there instead of a pop rivot that comes out with a tug.
Attached is the guide I am talking about.

I have the same car as you, equipped with the same audio system and there is no aux input. There is no "white cable" that folks talk about in previous versions of the C-class.
itronic is a blue tooth phone deal and there is also an audio module to connect ipods and other audio devices to your stock audio system.

Scroll down, you'll see what I'm talking about.

Thats right....its the VERY expensive stuff...no thanks.
So the 2007 does not have the aux capability? DAMN!
This is getting frustrating.
Do you know anything about the T605 from Motorola and if there is a harness for this car?

That's the world of Mercedes...everything is pretty expensive.
I got the mercedes ipod kit as a stop gap until I can upgrade my audio system with a NAV, audio, bluetooth all in one head unit. The ipod kit wasn't too terribly expensive and pretty easy to install especially with all the DIY guides on the forums and it works quite well.
I was all set on one of the new Pionnner F-series head units till everyone had major issues with it. So I'm waiting till all the bugs are sorted out before I invest in one.
I have no idea about the motorolla unit.

Adtl: I had to purchased a six foot 3.5mm t 3.5mm male to male cable so I can connect to an Ipod or any audio source with a 3.5mm head set jack. One end plugs to MB part A 203 540 61 07 and the other plugs to audio source. Routed that cable all the way to the driver side of the center arm rest so I have closer access to the end of the cable.
Here's a link with pictures of someone who posted at benzworld.org. He has a different part # listed though. Might want to contact the dealer.

I got the factory MB kit and it was around $300ish...took less than an hour to install. It worked but not all the controls functioned because I didn't have a phone kit installed.
All I had to do was to go to the dealer to get my phone stearing wheel buttons activated to control the ipod kit, which they did for free.

Ok, well I dont think I will do that. I am looking at the Motorola T605 BT phone handsfree and it not only does BT with the phone, it does BT with audio and has an aux input for any mp3.
I just need to find out if there is a wiring harness for it, if it uses the whole car audio system (not just 1 speaker), and what the quality is.

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for but on your stereo, if you hold down the CDC button for a few seconds, does the display turn to "AUX Active". If it does then you have the AUX capability. Whether it's prewired on 2007 or not im not sure but on my 2005 there is a wire that is routed under the passenger door sill. You will need to purchase an adaptor to turn the connector to a 3.5mm female audio connector. MB part # A 203 540 61 07 for like $45. You can then route it back up into the glove compartment or wherever you wish.

FYI, I just pulled mine apart (cracked the kick panel slightly but its not noticeable as of now).
I found NO white plug, but there was an empty black plug. I pulled everything I saw out and took pics with my cell. Please tell me if this is ready for any type of aux input and what part number it is. As I said, my radio says theres aux there if I hold down CDC. Here they are:

To use the MB iPod kit - which WILL work on your car - you have to have AUXIN - that's the way the kit works. This means to me that there is a wiring harness to give you exactly what you want - just a matter of figuring out what it is.
Don't suppose you want to pull your head unit and take pictures of the 3 connectors, do you?

So that black plug looks nothing like the "white" plug you are looking for. The fact that your radio will select "AUXIN" means it's capable of doing it, but not that all the right wires are there.

This is so much more complicated than I wish it were. I just want to get this going along with bluetooth and be done with it, but I dont want to shell out some crazy price like incartronics wants.

I may have to do that even though it will suck for me to have to. I commute over 3 hours per day for work and my closest dealer is about 30 mins away from my house in the opposite direction. There is almost no way I can get to the dealer by 5pm.
Anyone know what the part number for 2007 C230 is for the aux wire or what it looks like?

If you don't have the white plug then you are out of luck unless you know how to DIY it to the back of the headunit OR if you want to pay the dealership to do it for you.
this thread should be merged to the AUX thread btw.

I ripped it apart again today and dug all the way up to the floor boards by the passenger feet, which is a metal plate. I saw no white connector anywhere unless its run underneath that big metal plate under the passenger feet.

Found another possibility for your bluetooth issue at pac-audio.com.
They have a line up of bluetooth kits from EGO with vehicle harnesses that connect to our vehicles. The website itself doesn't sell it but you can find local dealers via the website. They seem to be in a price range more to your liking.
