14 Inch wheels

1 quick question, can i put 14 inch wheels on 2005' C230 Coupe without sport brake caliper? Stock Canadian coupe came with 16" and spare tire is a 15". So, i assume we can put 15" on a C230. But what about 14"? anyone have real experience instead of anything from the internet and "heard of"?

Don't really have an answer to said question and I'm sure someone on this forum does. . . but I had to ask first . . . WHY ? ? ?

I would love to have 14's on my car, but consider that there are risks that the you'll have clearance problems with suspension components as well as brakes. Of course if you get an offset that pushes them away from all that it will work but maybe look funny. Only way to know is go into a wheels/tire shop and have them try it.

i'm looking to buy some old school BBS mesh to put it on. Offset is for Mercedes, it's from one of the older AMG cars. Offset is 30, so should push it out a little bit. But i'm just gonna put snow tires on it.

I used to switch between summer/winter tires but found it to be a hassle. I picked up a set of authentic MB double-spoke 18" AMG staggered wheels off TireRack.com with Pirelli P-Zero Nero M/S tires and have been extremely happy with them. They work great in the summer heat and cold, snowy winters here in Chicago.

interesting... loooooow rider style.

you gonna put hydros on it too? j/k

they could work, you don't (or at least I don't think you do) have the stock larger brakes that the 05 and up sedans have.

14 is gonna be seriously pushing it, I'm gonna bet that it will NOT fit. Just look at the brake calipers when you have 16" on. You'll be chopping 1" off the radius, so do you see more than 1" clearance between the rim and caliper? Yes the BBS may be shaped differently along the inner edge but it'd be a rough indicator.

ps I think you're the 1st guy on the forums to try 14". If you pull it off, I'll look for you around town

ps when did AMG make 14" rims, for which platform? Learned something new today.

I used Pirelli P Zero Nero M/s on my amgs, I hated them. I still hate them, they are really not worth the price you pay for. its a pos. AND poor ratings, and poor reviews too.

I'm running a set of YOKOHAMA YK-520s as my winter tires, and they are amazing. its well worth the price you pay for.

it's the bbs rs that i'm looking at.
The most ideal size would be 15's from a sec560 AMG from the 90's. But this set that I was looking at are from the europe, so i was guessing that it must be from the 80's.

yeah slammer, i've seen u around town, and i believe i raced you once too

What? What car do you drive? I haven't "raced" anyone recently... Time to change that...

C230K SportCoupe
the front should fit with a 10mm spacer.
Wouldn't a 10mm spacer in the front be too big? I read somewhere on this forum a couple of times that anything more than an 8mm spacer in the front is too big. I drive a C coupe.

Sorry for my noob questions. I'm really new to this stuff & am trying to learn & confirm as much as I can before I commit big bucks to some wheels.
