Quote: Just for the record...because this makes TWS look really really bad...Sanders is not with TWS anymore Albert & Mike left Sanders and it is just them two now...and I have been going there for a year now and no problems. I practically live there and I have never seen a DCR come through there. Alot of high end cars go there now. Porsche M series and AMG's Really.

I'm sorry on your behalf you had to go through this but like I always tell everybody. If you want problem free go with the name brands because those companies can honor their losses rather than a new or upcoming company.

And as you say Sander...if this was one of his mistakes I don't see why the new owners would take care of the old problems. No offense bro.
If you go there all the time, ask Albert about the guy with two M6 convertibles...I am sure he will remember me. I tried to get him to make the products he sold me right, but instead of correcting the problem, one of his guys damaged my rims and then wouldn't own up to it. When I first went there, I was told that DCR Wheels WERE good quality, but I have since found out that most people that have them run into problems.

I am glad you have had such good luck with them, but as far as him not standing behind my purchase, I think that is crap. It doesn't matter which salesman sold you something...the company should stand behind it.

My opinion still stands.

I really agree with this post.
A salesman is the representative of the company.
Companies that hire bad reps are essentially giving themselves a bad name.

And as for the owner switch bull. It shouldn't matter.
Similar to buying a private car; the old tickets transfer with the car (product) and don't cease with the original owner (salesman).

I've never had a problem with TWS or with DCR's quality, but DCR's customer service does suck. although I do know the history of DCR and TWS relation that's not up to me to disclose it in detail. All I can say is Sander and the previous owner of DCR are brothers. Albert at TWS was left with a lot of the crap work those two left over. AND TWS is NOT DCR.

I'm not agreeing with TWS haha Im just saying you have to understand their view point. If they don't want to take a loss they don't have to because The Wheel Supply is no longer a company its Legally The Wheel Specialist with albert as the owner now. Sander owns The Wheel Supply which doesn't exist anymore.

All I am saying is you have to understand why they don't want to honor it. and since they aren't the same company they don't have to. IT IS NOT RIGHT! AND IT IS NOT ETHICAL. but technically they aren't liable because it is a different company now.

ONCE AGAIN LET ME REITERRATE THEY ARE NOT ETHICALLY RIGHT. BUT TECHNICALLY THEY ARE SINCE IT IS NOT THE SAME COMPANY.

It was a little confusing before, but I also agree with this point.
Thanks for making it clear.

I never said they didn't LOOK nice....but after tons of flat tires and trips on a tow truck...not to mention the danger of driving on wheels that fall apart...I think you get my drift.

no offense to you, but lots of times driving nice cars doesn't equal they know how to take care of the cars or drive. I've seen this SL55 with Lowenharts goes to TWS for new tires or fixing bent wheels EVERY 2 months and this other guy with a CL500 does the same thing with 20" Mili-miglias (sp??).

your issue with TWS was simply the seal for the barrel on the DCR wasn't properly done and while they're helping you repairing the issue one of their guys may or may not have damaged the wheel. The rest of what you said about tire sizing, wait time, etc are all your own excuses to discredit a place you don't like and have no knowledge of to begin with. When you take the wheels to the shop you claim you know, all TWS's liability is out the window since you had a third party taking the tire off.

I've done works on 3 of my cars and numerous cars with friends over at TWS and never had any one had issue and Mike and Albert were always careful with the rims when mounting the tires. AND We all are aware of TWS being a smaller shop the wait time is often very long since they have lots of cars to work on.

w203 forum moderator Drexappeal had dropped off his OZ Superleggera III for repairing a bent last Friday and the wheel was done the next day all the while TWS lent Drex an oem wheel to drive back and forth.

You obviously never heard of seen Radenergie's wheel losing rivets on the fly or DPE cracks a weld or HRE clear coat peel either to think you had it bad.

You don't know me, or how OCD I am with all of my cars. Maybe you need to read my long-winded post again. Sanders and Albert admitted fault to me about the poor quality of the DCR rims...blaming it on the bad chroming job, as well as apologizing for selling me the wrong size tires.

Quote: all TWS's liability is out the window since you had a third party taking the tire off.
Again you are not reading the details of my post. No third party touched my wheels. The damage that was done by TWS was brought to my attention by a guy at my local tire shop that noticed it while crouching down looking at the tire.before he even touched the car. He is also the one that noticed that they sold me the wrong sized tires.

Quote: I've done works on 3 of my cars and numerous cars with friends over at TWS and never had any one had issue and Mike and Albert were always careful with the rims when mounting the tires.
Lucky You!

Those things don't concern me. My experience is with DCR wheels and TWS.

How do you know? Were you there, or did you hear this from someone at TWS? I would imagine it is the latter.

Did they also tell you why almost half of the screws holding the wheels together were either loose or missing?

Did they happen explain to you why they secretly switched the TPM sensors that I purchased brand new at the BMW dealership (as they instructed me to do) with some after-market used ones? I am really curious what their explanation was for that. Sorry if these guys are your friends...but that is just out and out THEFT!

I think it is quite admirable that you are standing up for your friends. I would do the same thing; but the facts are the facts. After all the screw-ups, they promised me they would take care of this to shut me up long enough for the warrantee to run out...and then they just blew me off. Simple as that. Sorry you don't like the truth.

So maybe it is best to just stay with OEM wheels.

HaHa its not really just that...i mean obviously certain wheels are made better than others but at the end of the day when you start to run custom wheels on low profile tires and all that you pretty much have to change your driving habits you have to drive more carefully.

friends? not really. good customer and shop relationship, sure.

what I said above was solely based on some of the stuff I read in your post. nothing more. funny you said that you know your cars, yet when they ordered the wrong size tires it had to take a third party to find out it was the wrong size.

I've been going to TWS for years (since 2002 or so when it first opened) and while I may have had an issue or two here and there, it's nothing that was never resolved. I've had them work on 7+ cars. I had a set of DCR's on my Lexus as well and no issues whatsoever.

In your case, it just seems like a seal that wasn't done properly and nothing else. The rest is all customer service which I'm sure Albert will take care of.

By the way, you speak of the "disarray" of the place, that's what gives it its charm lol.

I don't think it is funny at all. They were supposed to be the experts! When I noticed more wheel gap after the new tires went on, Sanders told me that it was normal when you put a low profile setup on, and that most people usually lower their cars which would get rid of that.

Nothing else? What about the damage they did to the centers of the wheels? What about stealing my brand new, eom TPM sensors and replacing them with someone else's old aftermarket sensors?

Sheesh, if nothing else...you guys are loyal! LOL!

WHEN?

It has been TWO YEARS! He has never addressed my concerns! All I can say is Thank God I wasn't stupid enough to let them work on any of my other cars.

Post the tires size Sander originally put on and post the tire size that shop told you to put, as well as the wheels size they went on. I wanna verify that ****.

WHAT??? I am beginning to question your loyalty to TWS.

They admitted to, and apologized for installing the wrong tire size, but then wanted to charge me to correct the problem because the tires had been used a bit.

So are you saying that they could have been WRONG when they admitted to installing the wrong size tires on the car?

GASP!

Don't put words in my mouth, I'm saying YOUR shop might have been wrong. But if you say TWS admitted they made a mistake, then that's that.

So wtf is the issue again? they damaged the wheels?

OK, here we go...one last time.

1. The DCR wheels were defective. That in itself is not the fault of TWS...however, they SHOULD have tested them for leaks before they sent me on my way.

2. whichever TWS employee that did the actual mounting of the tires onto the wheels switched out the brand new OEM BMW TPM sensors that they told me to buy, and put in some aftermarket sensors.

3. When they supposedly fixed the wheels the first time (the day after I got them), they wanted to charge me for new barrels saying that the best way to repair and re-seal the wheel was to get new barrels because the chroming on the first barrel was not done very well. I refused to pay for new barrels on brand new wheels when obviously DCR should have covered that. They said they would fix them without changing the barrels.

4. When they fixed the wheels the second time, they offered to sell me new barrels at THEIR cost which still seemed lame to me since the wheels were not very old (a few weeks), but I gave in because I wanted this whole mess to be over.

5. They damaged the rims with whatever machine they used to change the barrels. Unless TWS sent them somewhere else to be re-barreled...nobody but TWS ever touched my wheels or tires. When I informed them of the damage, they told me that they weren't responsible for it because I didn't tell them about it before I drove off; yet they installed the rims on my car in the dark, in the parking lot behind their shop. When they told me I was "all set" and I got in the car to drive home, it was pitch black outside. How would I have seen the damage?

Perhaps that is why it mysteriously took so long for them to finish putting them back on the car. Maybe they realized that the wheels got damaged and they wanted me to not have the benefit of daylight when I looked at the wheels? Who knows??? To be honest...at this point, I wouldn't put ANYTHING past them!

So, after seeing the tire sizes, what is YOUR expert opinion?
