my 19" wheels have an offset of 38mm front and back. rear fits properly, however, the fronts did now. it did clear the big front brakes (C230K 2005)but did not clear the shocks. had to get custom spacers with hub centric. do not use universal spacers since it'll cause vibration to the steering wheel while driving. hope this help.

19's rub with the 265 in the back. The 235 in the front wont rub. So to avoid any rubbing issues all together I would just have to get 255 in the back correct? Just started looking into wheels and I don't want to make any more costly mistakes like last time. Which brand would let me rid 265 in the back with no rubbing issues? I looked at the goodyear f1. is this a good tire for not rubbing. Please give some feed back. I have made to many costly errors in the past. Don't want to repeate any of these with the new rims

just have the inner wheel well shaved if it rubs. Only about $30-35 per sides for the tire shop to take care of it. also, running Toyos or Falkens would reduce chances of rubbing because they have less square shoulder.

Frank,

I'm concerned about your last post/comment. It was my unsderstanding that these wheels would not rub if we use the 235 front 255 rear combination of tires, regardless of brand. I have no interest in modifying (rolling fenders, shaving, replacing springs, etc) to make these wheels work. Please clarify that if I use the 235/255 combination, with whatever tires I choose, that there will not be rubbing. BTW, I have the 2005 C230K SS.

Thanks
Hank

hanke ... my cousin has 255 in the rear (also w203) and he has no rubbing what so ever. even when making sharp turns with his car (and ppl in the back) i never noticed any rubbing.

thats why i took 8.5 in the back so i wouldn't have that problem of the lip not being protected enough with 255 on a 9.5 wheel.

Hey guys, well I finally got on the deal and took the last set.

Anyway, I wouldn't do any type of fender rolling because it will devalue the car when its time to sell. Also if the body shop doing the mod makes a slight mistake, you will live with it and since I'm a perfectionist, its not going to be good.

My opinion is to stick with 255 in the rear for everyday driving. If your gonna do shows and don't have passengers than go with the 265. I'm also going to lower the car so 265 is out of the question if I get Tein's.

I live in NY and the roads are probably the worst in the US. I'm most likely going to drive much more careful than I would with the stock wheels with the 255.

By the way, I took ESP off the other day and took a turn really fast and did a drift on the stock wheels. Boy it was fun! But now with 19's I'm going to have to stop doing this because I don't want to mess up the expensive 19's tires.

that comment was regarding if he uses the 265 tires. 235 and 255 will be fine.

i think you can forget that idea. maybe we would get one together with summer tires, cuz all states have a summer, but not all a winter with snow.

just curious ... how many will go with 235 and 255 (not winter). maybe if we get enough someone can get us a group buy as mentioned earlier.

I am going to get 235 front and 255 in the back. Summer tires. I am looking into PZero Nero. I have read the reviews on tirerack and I think that sounds like the best for everyday driving.

I'm doing the same, 235 and 255. Tires cost as much as the wheels and more depending on the brand.

If we can get some tire deals going I will likely jump in. That would save us even more money and hassle. My brother has 19's on his 330ci sport and he keeps them inflated to 45psi in Kansas City (rated worst roads in the nation) and he still has yet to smash a rim up. He did however smash up 2 sets of 18's at 32psi.

I will go with the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 as well, 235/255. If enough could agree on this setup, I'd be interested in a group buy.

young doc, razer and ernster ... would you be okay with the goodyears?

and Frank:

didnt really count how many days they are in production now, but im sure at least one wheel is already finished. maybe your contact person could make a picture and send it to you. im curious how dark the black finish will be at the end

Goodyears seem fine with me but from the other post $800 seems to be expensive but I guess that is retail. Lets see if Frank can come up with something and I will ask my buddy who is in the tire business.

What are the disadvantages of having a 255 rather than a 265 in the back?
