That's the lip. With staggered wheels, a lot of Brabus replica wheels come with lips of 2-3.5" in the rear. Mine is just 1" and I like that look more.

'05 C230 sedan staggered black 19'' wheels, ADVICE?

Hello every1, new to this site. Anyway, I own an Black '05 c230 kompressor sport sedan and I am looking to get wheels and do it the right way. I am looking for 19" BLACK rims/low profile tires that would sit perfect and not be too high/low/wide/narrow. Im not to knowledgeable on the variables when It comes to rims/tires. I saw the Moven 19" Brabus replica rims, and only found them in silver. I like that style, and would be open to many suggestions. I just know many cars sit different with diff rims. Honestly looking to get something right away, why waste time? haha. Any advice will help. I am in Orange County, Ca so somewhere local would be nice. Also looking for a custom stereo system in OC, but that will come in later threads. Thanks.

a quarter mile at a time
search the forums. there are a TON of threads about wheels/tires. with the sport sedans however, the challenge is clearing those front brake calipers that they have. a lot of wheels will not clear them without spacers.

If you want to do it "right", 1) lower the car 2) Save money and get better rims than replicas.

Thing is, the defiition of how to do it "right" is different for everybody. My definition of doing aftermarket mods is getting good quality products that will give you flexibility with what you can do with the car. And it's also important to read and do research before you make a definitive "decision" on purchasing the products. Don't just buy something because other people "said" it was good. Do more research yourself. Learn more about the product, so that you'll have a better understanding of what you're buying yourself.

See, a lot of people buy products without doing research and end up with questions like, "Help! Wheels won't fit" or "Why is the suspension so stiff?" or "What is the right offset?" or "HELP! Rubbing problems." If you search through the forums for all the different intangibles you'll need for buying suspension and wheels, you'll get products that will be good quality, last a long time and look excellent on your car for your particular tastes. Things like, offset, wheel width, tire size, wheel size, suspension, shocks, dampers, etc, etc, etc...All those things will be important for purchasing the right rims and avoiding all the problems.

The only thing I'm worried about with de-badging is re-sale, what do I do then when some grandpa wants to buy it and it's debadged?

And is it just stick on? Like I can just heat it off or is it embedded in the trunk lid (had that problem when debadging my last car).

Also, White_W203, can you post pics of your Pioneer AVIC-N1? I was thinking about getting one.

They're just glued on; floss 'em off, then rub off the remaining glue. You could then buy lettering again from dealer and stick those on when you went to resell.

As far as grandpa wanting debadged ****, you're on your own.

Hahah shhh, so I slipped and added an extra T. Hey, you live in Westwood? I'm right there in Glen Rock. When I get back from school we should definitely have a mini-meet. I know a few guys with Mercedes in the area. We could do a Ridgewood meet/cruise.

Very Very nice!! Is it okay if I do exactly that to mine? Would those wheels look good on a red car? I love that look and slightly lowered, too! Awesome! I would like a ride evaluation as well, when you get a chance or when your springs settle. That is my concern about lowering my car.

Thanks for the reports!

Haha I don't mind if you do it to your car at all. Make sure to get the H&R Sport Springs, they lower 1.4" back, 1.3" front so it's subtle, but looks thousands of times better. You can get them from TireRack.com for $241 shipped to your door. As for the wheels, go to any reputable dealer that sells Brabus (or Brabus replicas if you don't have $5,500 to shell out). One place NOT to go is velocitymotoring.com. Despite good reviews, I had the worst interaction with them.

As for the ride evaluation, I can't give you one yet because I've had my friend take my car to and from the shop, as I'm still away at college, so well...I haven't driven it with the new suspension/wheels yet.

But as for one last idea, I'd recommend go with 18" wheels as I did. The 19" wheels look better, but then you have to worry about bending them over potholes, also you'll have to roll your fender if you install the H&R lowering springs as well, otherwise the tire will rub against the fender wall. So 18" wheels are just a more economic wheel and that's the look I prefer to go for.

if you never plan to get the car running over 100 mph, go with the 19", if you do go with the 18".

I had that kind of setup before it's way better than those bouncy OEM suspensions. get good tires also.

Good luck!

Yeah, the ride of Mercedes is incomprable. It's unbelievable, especially compared to my Mustang I used to have. Haha.
