I'm with Young. I moved to Texas from Ohio just over a year ago. I moved to Ohio from Boston. It does have a "midwest" culture (at least in Columbus). Very "Abercrombie & Fitch" in the way that the young people dress. Very friendly compared to Boston and NY.

I have a co-worker from Cleveland and she refers to Ohio as midwest. Seems that history for her stopped before the Louisiana Purchase (1803).
Being from Missouri, of course, I think that west of the Mississippi is more midwest, or at least Central Time Zone (IL through KS/NE and north of the Mason-Dixon line) is midwest.
I do think it's funny to separate CA from the Southwest. What's that all about?

I now live in Tucson...also spend part of the year up in Phoenix for work....one thing about AZ..we dont change time during DST...non-comformists? dont know....I know part of north-west Indiana also does not change the time...having lived in South Bend, IN for a bit....

I always hate turning the clock back in the fall. It's dark when I go to work, and dark when I go home at night.
