C230 Headlight Adjustment

Hi, just bought my girlfriend an 05 c230. I noticed tonight that the headlights aren't aimed properly. Can anyone tell me where the vertical adjustment screws are for the low beams?

I did, but was checked the wrong section, so I didn't come up with anything. Found it this time. Thanks anyway.

So I really did it this time. I got the height adjusted fine, but the beam pattern didn't look right. Decided to play with the side to side adjustment a bit, but the covers over those screws had been removed, so I guess the previous owner had already screwed it up for me. Anyway, I started adjusting the horizontal on the right side, and very quickly ran up against the stop. It seems to have gone over it's travel limit because when I tried to go back the other way, I got a clicking sound and no movement. Anyone ever take this mechanism apart? It feels like some sort of gearing, and it's just not catching. Advice?

Someone help....Ive done it this time.

I was messing around with the headlight vertical adjustment knob and brought it as low as it would go. Now turning the knob int he opposite direction doesnt seem to raise the beam.

Did I screw up the threading or something? Hoping this is an easy fix....anybody know anythign about this?

you probably lowered it so much that the screw on the adjustment bracket isnt catching the thread to allow it to adjust. you might have to take the headlight apart and see.

Yep you were absolutely right!

But I didnt take it apart, hell I didnt even take the headlight off the car. Just used some force at strategic angles to make the screw thread engage again and all is well.

Thanks for the pointer there phister.

jcnash,
I'm having the same problem with my 2005 C230K. The adjuster screw went too far (it seems) and is simply "clicking" and wont advance or retard. You say you simply applied some "force" at strategic angles to get the adjuster screw to catch again. Do you mean force/angle on the screwdriver tool to the screw? I don't want to have to remove that headlight assembly and your "fix" sounds reasonable.
Thanks in advance!
