BTW, can you post a pic of your car with the bumper back on? I'd love to see how the intercooler looks under it !

Found an old Brabus muffler for w203 c240 at the flea market two days ago, got my super cool welder to dissect it and made 3 exact copies and sold em to my friends. I didn't have my camera with me during the job so these are the only photos I've got.
Sounds really mean... a bit louder but not HKS tin can loud. Exact to the millimeter copy using good grade stainless steel. Inside even the same number of holes are drilled. The photo shows a slightly discoloured surface, thats cuz I've been driving REALLY hard the past few days testing out the intercooler :P
About US$165 in all. Not bad.
I'm turning my car into a science experiment

Actually since it sounds cool and my three friends are happy (same as me) I've already ordered another 3 to be made. I was going to Ebay it after new years...
Oh yea, to be safe from copyright and patent the only thing not copied was the Brabus engraving
The cost price is between US$165-185 depending on exchange rate. Muffler only.
Lorinser style dual oval tips or Brabus style round tips are about US100 extra.

My C200K costed THB3,300,000 which is roughly US$76,000 by today's rate. I moved here from Australia 6 months ago, at aussie prices I could have (and would have) bought an e46 M3. For some reason small Bimmers are more fun to drive than small Mercs, 3er's feel like go-karts
Yes I will post a pic...bumpers are stuck in a painting job queue...but it sure looks mean! The core is so obvious...I may subtle it a little by putting on a black painted steinmetz style mesh.

I will be making my own tips...the one pictured is one I made earlier... nevermind the Brabus logo... I was just playing with the sand blaster and put one on just for *****s and giggles...obviously I do not sell my parts with ANY branding on...that would be illegal wouldn't it?!)
As for the fitment, I do not know because I've never even seen a C-Coupe in person.
The new muffler is the same length, but smaller because its a different shape. The stock muffer is more or less a right angle triangle, the new one is rhombiod (is that a word... or is it rhombus?!?) anyways sorta like an equilaterial triangle with the top chopped off. Clearence is no problem on the sedan...
Best to see if your stock one looks like mine. or better yet as the dealer if they're the same sedan-coupe]

Congrats man , I wish I know a place here to get parts like your Thai parts flee market. Btw...is it a straight thru design?? How does it compared with Remus, cos my Remus makes a really puny sound, I can't hardly hear it from inside the car

I've never used a remus so I can't comment...about the sound... it midrange to highs stay about the same, but the bottomend is beefy, you can hear a deep tone from inside the car...sounds like boosting the EQ for all frequencies below 200Hz and flattening everything above
I tried to make a recording on my laptop but the cheapo microphone doesn't do it justice...there really is NO way to get a good recording without spending big bucks on a good microphone.

I think 3Point has given new meaning to the word "modifications"! You could certainly create a market for these things in Australia...if you can make shipping cost effective. Customs shouldn't get involved either as you are using old materials!

WOW !!!
Buell - you are just amazing with all these tech insights.
Do you own a service manual ???

To remove the bumper cover, remove the black plastic panels in the front part of the wheel well (about 6 plastic push pin fasteners) and you'll have access to the screws that hold the bumper cover on from the back. On the front there are 2 screws by the fog lights that must be removed. Under the hood there are screws at the end by the grill that are the trickiest to get and not lose and the ones in the center and the bumper cover and grill come off in one piece. Make sure you disconnect the wiring for the fog lights and temp sensor. Also pull straigh forward, any twisting/tweaking may damage the rollers that the bumper slides on. It will look good that way in a Mad Max sort of way!

My knowledge of mercedes isn't that well, either is my knowledge with Force inductions.. But isn't that Intercooler just a little too big.. i remember in turbo cars you dont' really need such a crazy big IC because you'll lagg ur turbo.. and then makes driviability go down the drain.. but maybe the S/C is belt driven, so it doesn't really matter, therefor no lag.. Can someone shed some light

OH yea by the way.. i got my ASP Pulley in.. It kicks ***.. but what was wrong wtih the guy that had problem with his?? i'm in a way kinda worried.. cus i dont' really want to do damage to my car.. it only got 3k miles on it

I've never heard of such welding craftsmanship as your resources. Uh...do you think you could make a dual exhaust application out of these welding techniques for the coupe? I'm really not interested in spending more than 1000 bucks for a logo on a peice of medal, although i do like the logos. Seeing one tip on each side like those V8 mustangs have would make my car look much more aggressive I think. Even without the V8

So, does it feel any different, performance wise?
Well, I guess you'd have to drive EARLY in the morn to find out,
or out in the country.
I remember seeing the Maserati dealer near Sukemveet (Spelling?), checking out the turbo spider, doing the baht to dollar conversion, and wondering aloud, why anyone in Bangkok would bother.
You can never get going more than 30 mph in the city.
They sell more brands there than in the US!
And lots of cool cars still running due to the cheap labor.
Sometimes I miss it there.....cheap food, drinks, hand tailored clothes...
Pineapple fried rice served on roller skates...
....'interesting' entertainment, if you call it that.
Smog that reminds me of LA in the 60's.....
Too bad I didn't make to the beaches. Biz trip.
Only 20 dollars for a REAL Rolex? Really!?
