cat removed on M271 engines
does anybody have been removed their second cat ? any improvement for hp or gain pls shared some experience!

If there are any gains it would be minimal, maybe 1-2 hp.

Save your money and buy a Kleemann header.

I had my centre OEM cat removed when shop fitted my Kleemann header and cat. Not sure what the gain might be for just the removal of the cat on its own although you may get better air flow.

tht mean once you install the kleemann header with cat so you removed the centre cat is it the sound louder?

Yes, with the fitting of the Kleemann header and cat, and the removal of the OEM centre cat and fitting 3-in-line mufflers in its place the sound is still quite loud which is why i am now going down the C55 exhaust route i.e. centre tyre well and C55 back boxes.
