Higher octane most of the time is good because it burns out cleaner(that's why racers use it, not because of the performance gain). Eventually and with time, it would get rid of most of the carbon our engines have right now, but then again, if the car is not set up to handle that kind of octane, it might damage seals and o-rings that could cause other troubles. Every once in a while, it's not a bad thing to do. I have been around racing fuel for a while and can say that it actually works.

Chevron-Techron works pretty good! I would definitely recomend it.

Worked for Chevron for 37 years - Techron is great and unsurpassed in performance- I would also change your plugs

Just had to bump this because ive been getting some weak startups for a while now and was always curious on how to get rid of that annoying sputtering at start up. As with everybody else it only occurs at the initial start up and doesn't do it again at others . . . wierd. I will definitely have to buy this stuff and try it asap Is it hard to change spark plugs, ive never done it before

So you got a CEL from the Techron additive?

I'm going to try this soon. Is the concensus here that Techron is the best additive to use? Small bottle with 11 gallons of gas?
