Warranty Question?
Hey guy's. I am just wondering what would have happened when MB Tech found a blown gasket on my car and i had a after market pulley.
I was thinking about getting a pulley but thank god i didn't had time to order one. Because it would have been in my car when They discovered that i had a blown gasket at Service B.
Do you guy's think they might have blamed the problem on me if they where to find the after market pulley?

What everyone has to consider is warranty and aftermarket installed on a Benz. True you can install a pulley kit then remove it before you take it back to the Benz dealer however they will find out about it and void the warranty. It is the same for any thing that interferes with the electrical system, suspension etc. Mercedes is not stupid and they will find out and their goes your warranty!

I suppose it also has to do with relevance. Today I brought my coupe in because the audio system flipped out. They called me and asked about the RF adapter for my mp3 player. Since it is hardwired into the setup they had to discount that first. I was told that if the problem went away after removing that I'd be responsible for paying for diagnostic work up to that point. Of course it didn't have anything to do with it - but it was an interesting conversation with the service manager.
Of course something like a head gasket - pulley - oh yea, you'd be on your own!

Did you treat your service manager to your Christmas goose dinner?
If not - there would have appeared a direct linkeage: Blown gasket > Kleeman.
