how do i clean EGR and PCV valve? thermostat question
Hi,
On a C320 w/a M112 motor, where and how do I clean the EGR and PCV valves?
Also, on a C320 w/75,000 miles, is it a good idea to replace the coolant cap and thermostat?
thanks,
Ben

MBWorld Fanatic!
I use a strong degreaser, then hose the engine down and then use a terry towel to clean off any grease/dirt not removed by the degreaser and water and then spray them with a dressing to give them a nice show car shine. I usually only do this while trying to sell my car so the engine looks pretty.
Seriously, why would you bother, what do they cost for an aftermarket egr or check valve, $15? Don't know what would you gain from changing the radiator cap unless it's not holding pressure and same with thermostat. Changing parts for the sake of changing them is a waste of time and money. Change something that needs it like like tranny and rear diff fluids.

Hi Buellwinkle,
Doing the tranny/oring repair this weekend and possibly the rear diff fluid.
For the rear diff fluid, do I need a vacuum to pump the fluid in and out?
Also, on the tranny fluid, how come you only got 3.5qts?
thanks,
