Question C240/320 sunroof question...

After reading someone's post about the C230 sunroof, I've got a question for the C240/320 gang. On my C240, whether I use one-touch open or hold the switch, my roof opens about 3/4 of the way. I've assumed it doesn't open the rest of the way to control wind buffetting. Does anyone's open the rest of the way if you press the switch again? Mine doesn't, and I just want to be sure there's no problem. Apparently, the C230 sunroof opens all the way on the second push.

MarkL, mine opens all the way using one-touch. No intermediate stops or need to push the button again. (Sorry)

On a related thought, the one-touch tilt up works, as advertised, but one-touch doesn't work to close it (tilt down). I have to hold the button to close.

MB-BOB, do you mean the glass retracts completely into the roof? In my full open position, part of the glass still protrudes into the opening. BTW, the tilt down happens so quickly, I've never determined if the one-touch does it -- by the time I think about it, it's closed anyway!

my one touch feature opens the sunroof as far as it can possibly open.

Yeah, but I'm still trying to find out if when it's open "all the way", the glass moves completely into the roof opening, or does part of it remain visible?

On mine, when it is all the way open, you can see about 2" of glass. This is from the outside. I don't think it is meant to completely disappear.

Try resetting your sunroof system by holding the switch in the up position for 5 seconds (its in the manual)

Yep, I just tried it when I left work (even though it was only a balmy 38 degrees!). Same thing, about 2" protruding when looking from the outside. I had thought it was more. So, no problem

MB-BOB, when I tried the roof just now, it was cold and the motor was running a little slower. I tried the one-touch close from the tilt position and it did work. Also, did you know you can either press the switch forward (sliding close) or pull down (tilt close) to close the tilt position? On mine, either way, the one-touch did its thing.

MarkL, like BigBadDad, my sunroof doesn't disappear completely... When you said it opened only 3/4 of the way, I thought that was a problem. I'd say that 90-95% of my sunroof disappears when open.

Thanks for the tip on the tilt button. I'll try pushing forward to see if that works any better in autoclosing the tilt.

Crap! Sounds like all our sunroofs are broken.
