Okay to use Honda Type 2 antifreeze?
My coolant level is low by about 20oz. and rather than buy a gallon of MB antifreeze, i'm wondering if it would be kosher to use Honda Type 2 antifreeze.
On the Honda container, it says that it is specifically formulated for use in aluminum parts.
Any reason why I shouldn't just top it off my C320 with Honda Type2 antfreeze?
thanks!

No. But you can use Xerex G-05. It's the only approved stuff. $10.
I think what I read was it's not aluminum thats a problem, some other metals.

use the mercedes stuff. the honda coolant is just your typical 50/50 antifreeze water. if your resevoir is pretty low, you can put distilled water in there for now until you get the mercedes coolant.

With Benz metallurgy, stick to the approved product. There are so many banned constituents - no Phosphates - no this - no that - that de-ionised water won't pass their spec one of these days. Don't mix coolants either. There are so many different types these days from carboxylate to plain water/glycol mixes that gel formation in the cooling system is possible should you mix.

Please don't use the Honda product. It will damage your cooling system. Besides, when the car overheats the smell of rice burning is awful.
Getting serious, you should look for the reason the fluid is low. It does not normally need to be topped off. You might ave a leak, or a dreaded radiator that likes to mix the glycol with the transmission fluid. There is also a bad head gasket causing the glycol to be burned, or most likely a water pump shaft seal that does not grip the shaft tightly.
