Loose Supercharger
3 days after having some vent hose replaced following a recall, while driving I hear a pop & lose power. Next day check engine light comes on. Take in for service, SA said supercharger came lose. Fixed at no cost. Seems the tech left it lose and it came apart under pressure. At least I got to drive a C350 loaner.

I would be very worried about damaging the mating surface? The S/C is aluminum. The plenum on the M111 is aluminum too. Therefore very soft.
I don't recall wich engine you have.

I have been thinking about this more than I should....
There is a gasket, but it is a bit thin. What pops off, must come down, and with throttle, it would be coming up and down. Even if the play is but 1-3 mm away from the mating surface. With the tension on the belt...It hurts to think about it.
I see that the motor is the 1.8k s/c. So, I don't have hands on experience, but you should speak with the tech who did the work.
There is an outside shot that the mounting threads which hold down the S/C could be stripped.
Efff, I don't like this at all.

Are there any odd sounds from the S/C? Think metal noises, not induction/air intake noise.
You can use a paper towel roll center and place it to your ear, then go to the S/C pulley to hear for specific noise.
