Sirius Antenna
Hey guys. New 2k7 C230 Sport owner here. I'm tired of the H/K system that came with the car. I'm planning a new system install and I have a question about the Sirius antenna. Is it possible to use the factory Sirius antenna in conjunction with an aftermarket head unit? Alpine to be exact. This info is pretty much the last piece of my puzzle before tearing stuff apart.
Thanks in advance for any feedback you can provide.

You know, to me if you can get to the cable, and don't mind doing some cutting, you could put a new end on the cable to make it mate with the new headunit's Sirius brain box's port. I think it's doable.

I don't mind cutting and splicing. Do most satellite antennas have similar wiring? By similar wiring, I mean like coax type cable for example. Or is it just 2 ordinary wires that send signal?

In the store bought packages it's a two wire setup. I'm not sure what it is in our cars. Either way, it's probably going to be a solder based connector. I don't think it's crimped like an F connector.

Worked fine on my 06, just disconnected the antenna cable from the factory unit and connected it to the new tuner. The new unit fit nicley in the location from the factory one.
