Illuminated footwells

Different angle
Past weekend, I got my sway bars installed by Auto Image. I have Eibach in the rear and H&R in the front.

I wonder who started that trend
? j/kyeah, I would take that dealer badge off. I can't stand when dealers put their little stickers and badges on cars. It seems like it happens just about everywhere except in California. Only the license plate frames have the dealer name on it. I guess people can't stand giving away free advertising like that.
Anyway... the illuminated foot wells is a nice touch !
and looking good with the Lorinser roof wing (a personal favorite of mine), and the RENNtech spoiler.

I got my car from an M-B dealership in CA, and in looking at all the pics the sales guy sent me prior to buying it, I noticed that the only dealership information was on a license plate bracket (metal no less) mounted around the rear plate.
I wouldn't have it any other way. I hate Hate HATE dealership stickers on cars. And no way in h*ll would I ever have them put that crap on my cars.

Worse I ever seen was here in RI from a now closed dealership. 1 1/2 inch high capital letters (for first letter of each name). Picture "Tom Flurkey" in bubble type font pasted across the back of your car. It was probably at least 10 inches in length. Now why the F would anyone want Tom Flurkey pasted across the back of their trunk

Or how about back in the 70's/80's when they would actually drill holes into your trunk lid to affix their metal dealership emblems

when ever I go out of state I always see them and think "wow I'm glad they don't do that in CA"
I just wonder / wish the blue light could be swapped for a more orange / yellow, similar to the lights in the dash, etc. Are the bulbs easily accessible on the illuminated sills?
Thanks

C230Brit, as for swapping the lights out, I don't think that's possible. See, these sills do not have a light bulb per se. The "Mercedes-Benz " part is a very thin strip that gets mounted to the underside of the stainless steel sill. I forget exactly the type of illumination that's used, but from what I remember, it's similar to those blueish night lights you see that use light $0.01 cent of electricity per year. Almost like an indiglo. So swapping it out or changing it to a different color I don't think would be possible. Although...on some Infiniti's, they have illuminated sills that have an orange color to them. Jerry at formymercedes dot com sells these, so you might want to ask him if a color change is possible.
Thanks,

Thanks Cintoman - you confirmed what I had pictured. Oh well! I will probably do it anyway
I was just hoping somehow I could 'color match' the dash lights, etc.I would have been super suprised if someone came back and said 'yep' the colors are interchangeable. I've seen the strips on FMM.com too.
All in all, a good well priced mod...

Soooo.....it may be possible to change the color. I already have my sills installed, so I can't check on how you would do this. But all I remember is the "Mercedes-Benz" logo strip being really thin, with a couple of wires coming from it.

Thanks again Cintoman!
Here are 2 pics of a door sill from our cars. The full one with the all black interior I found on the net, the other partial view with the light grey interior is from my car from a pic the sales guy sent me prior to me buying the car. Sorry it's only a partial view. Then here are 2 pics of the illuminated sill on the passengers side that I just took (damn it's cold outside). Note how it's installed over the existing one.
Hope this helps...

Personally, I would stick it at the center of the base of my rear window and have it lit up (forget the flashing bit) at night. For me, lettering no taller than 1 inch would be my max.
