But this doesn't involve warranty issues. Next up: $500 Brabus cigarette lighter, followed by $1,000 Brabus windshield wipers!

BigB, if that was a serious question, Upsolute is a German company that has US reps who can remove your ecu, reprogram it (basically advance the timing), and drop it back in for $350. Gets you 10-30 hp, assuming no other mods present. If you want more info, do a search; this topic has been discussed frequently.

Like 'em. But for the money, you coulda bought bricks to pave your driveway (please don't hit me - just busting your chops...)

On a serious note, though - they seem to have fewer rubber **** (or whatchamacallits) than the stock pedals; is that an issue when your shoes are wet, i.e. slippage? I noticed that when it rains, I need to apply the foot dead-on rather than heel-toe, or it tends to slip off the brake pedal.

Thumbs up

Well, since you're being serious...

they seem to be a little more slippery. I'll find out tomorrow. But, when it's dry, they definitely feel more sturdy. I wouldn't wear flat dress shoes with them. And I'll have to forget my pumps ...

what you need are those lands end driving mocs...

according to them
<b>"It has a feel for the gas pedal.
Men's Driving Moc

Comfortable moccasin construction
Lined in silky cowhide
Handsewn kicker and plug

It has a feel for the gas pedal.
Oh, there's plenty of cushioning, in both a cork-and-latex layer and foam padding. But with moccasin construction and the tiled rubber sole, the Driving Moc serves up a whole new kind of driving thrill. (Just try to keep it at 55.) Made in Brazil. Tan is suede. Clean suede with soft bristle brush. All other colors are smooth cowhide. Clean with saddle soap, then polish with paste wax.</b>

real brabus rims have....

"Brabus" will be engraved on the rims. You can tell if they're fake if they don't have the name engraved on them.

Also, don't be fooled by the "B" centercap, which are hard to get. That's why these Brabus "style" rims on ebay come with Mercedes "star" center caps.

I thought about buying some fake Brabus rims to be honest, but didn't get them because it would degrade the car. Why put on some phonies?

On the other hand, anyone who owns real Brabus rims know that a) they're very heavy and b) they're made by Ronal.

There are probably better rims out there for the car, which are lighter, nicer, and a bit cheaper. Fikse's and HRE's come to mind, but they're both not MBZ exclusive rims.

Part of the notoritiety of buying Brabus, Carlsson, or AMG rims is because they are MBZ exclusive.

As Flavor-flav from Public Enemy says, "dont believe the hype..."

i dont know...sometimes i think rims can be so damn over priced.. that is what makes me wanna buy the fake stuff or somethign that looks similar but different brand....

i look at the rims more than check out their names..because i am not going to be racing my car..so weight etc doesn't matter all that much to me.. it just has to look good.. if it does..then i'll get em... it doesn't matter to me if they are fake brabus or somethign made in china..

sorry guys.. i'm just peeved that i had to drive to the dealer just to find out that my car needs to be in the shop more..

Had to throw my 2 cents in. There was a similar discussion regarding replica rims on Benzsport.com.

Remember, Brabus/Lorinser and most german tuners DO NOT make their own wheels. It is all subcontracted out to other manufacturers like Dronell and others in Asia. With Brabus, you are paying a _premium_ for STYLE and LOGO **ONLY**. The replicas made in Taiwan, and for sale on Ebay, from all reports, are good quality and they come with their own warranty. Benzsport members have tried out the replicas and have reported no problems.

Currently, the Brabus Monoblock VI's only come in 18". The 19" and 20" version are in production/development. Same goes with the Lorinser LM-5's. Also, BBS LM replicas are also going to be made.

Also, the center cap can be widened out to fit the Brabus center cap, but I condone such actions.

I wonder what the attorney's for Daimler/Chrysler/AMG, Brabus, Lorinser, BMW and Motronic would say about this guyts website and all the blatant copyright infringement. (Use of the trademarked 3 point star, AMG name, M logo and BMW logo on the afforementioned site are spread around like peanut butter at a kindegarten buffet)

hmmmm.....Any legal eagles want to take a crack at this?

If Brabus and Lorinser have trademarked and/or patented their wheel designs, then these wheels probably infringe on the rights of the manufacturers. There might be differences between the real wheels and the ersatz e-bay alternatives enough to get around a patent infringement, but I doubt it. Getting around a trademark violation (if the manufacturers were smart enough to register a trademark with respect to their designs) would be much more difficult.

BigB, I had 18" VIs priced out (staggered), and they came to $3600 mounted with tires, and this excludes the cost of rolling the fenders. That's when I stopped looking at them.

I just went to Tirerack, and they had Carlsson 1/6's that were staggered that looked really good, and they were only 309/339 for 18's. But I remember hearing that they're very heavy as well. Does that sound right?

I am very suprised that M.B. and\or BMW have not put a stop to the use of their respective logos on these aftermarket wheels, they are very strict about this generally. Just my .02.

i dont think you need to have your fenders rolled for the staggered 18"s..... but they are stupidly expensive
