I am trying to find the paint code for my 2002 C 240. I've looked at all the labels I can find under the hood and in the doors, and am not sure if any of the numbers I see refer to the paint color. Can anyone help me with this?

Here is what the sticker looks like from the Pros

Basic black is 040, pewter silver is 723, obsidian black is what's pictured below, see the 197, that's the paint code. If it starts with a C, it has the ppg ceramiclear clearcoat, 2004.5 and newer.

Glyn to the rescue again! I needed to know what the C meant for in the begining of my paint code and you just answered my question. Here's a picture of it, I have no idea how a rock could have kicked back up at rear panel like that. I first suspected a door ding but there is no dent. So I am getting the Langka paint chip kit to try it out and see what happens.

 

whats the differnet between obsidian black and regular black?

 

obsidian black can has sparkle to it where as regular black is just black with out sparkles when you look close at the paint. regular black is also deeper black.

 

Obsidian black has metal flake in it.

 

Has anyone used this Langka kit recently with success?

 

+1? Heard good/bad about their chip kit, and also wonder if anyone has had success with it.

 

Sorry to revive an old thread, but for paint code 744 - Brilliant Silver Metallic the dating is wrong. It shows above as an 04-05 color, but my 2001 has this code on the door jam.
