I would only use that in a worn engine where you have nothing to loose. Should reduce oil consumption - frankly it's unlikely to do any harm as long as you have no near freezing starts - I don't know why you want to ignore Benz recommendations however.

Understood. That's a real good price! In Houston heat I would just use it and not go the full 13,000 miles. Remember at cold temperatures it will behave like a 15W & at operating temperature like a 50.
