Poor reception from FM Transmitter

Hi All,

I am trying to listen to music on my car (2004, C240) stereo through the fm transmitter in my gps. I can barely hear the music!! there is a lot of static and the audio quality is very poor!! I tried switching channels, but didn't work. any ideas? Also I came across FM Antenna Adapter for merc, does that have anything to do with increasing the FM reception?? Please help!! Iam very disappointed right now Another question, where exactly would be the radio antenna in my car?

Thanks in advance..

In the rear window I believe. Do you have metal tint on the rear window?

You might want to consider using an in-line modulator - you can use a Sirius modulator, then send that via an antenna adapter to your antenna input on your headunit - there-by sending a signal directly to your headunit and by-passing reception through your exterior antenna.

You could also install an aftermarket head unit with AUX input.

Do you have a CD changer? If not, you can use that input through an adapter for other devices, such as an iPod.

Check out my post at the bottom of the page: https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...474&highlight=

If the adapter you came across the same with the pic(adapter 1) then it would not increase the reception. It's the one I use on my pioneer HU. It only picks up stations/towers close to the area. "Short range".

The other pic (A2) is amplified but I don't know if it works better. You can find it on ebay:

As far as I know there is no adapter for the 'long range' antenna located in the rear.
