C240 Performance Pack (Group Buy)
We will have results of the kit on Friday, but I figure I'd start posting up the details and taking down names.
The customer's car we are using has chosen to keep the airbox so we modified the intake tubes to allow for the stock CAI location as well as improved flow.
We further added hi-flow air filters, better flowing injectors, and a dyno proven (on Friday) ECU tune.
Below are pics of the airbox with tubes, it has armor all on it so ignore the dusty look.

This is for both the C240 and C320 guys, but will be dyno tested on the 240.
The airbox is modded (on the inside), but this will be a DIY procedure that we can provide instructions for. You can send it to us if you choose, but it won't be necessary.
Wavey's car might be here for another week and we have something else planned for that dyno.

So did you move where the tubes go to or did you just make them stainless with filters on the end and inside the airbox kind of like when Advan did it with his coupe intake?
Coupe Intake
Could you provide more pics of the new intake tubes? Thanks.

We modified the tubes to allow for the radiator inlets to still be used. This improves on the often seen filters in the engine compartment.
Cost is approximately 75.00 for the tubes and couplers, but we will have full pricing when kit is finished.

Here are the rsults for the C240 kit.
Stock (iridium plugs): 136.42 RWHP 136.71 RWTQ
Tubes and Filters: 140.29 RWHP 139.48 RWTQ
Tune, Injectors, Tubes, and Filters: 157.13 RWHP 163.36 RWTQ
I'm trying my best to get these graphs scanned into the comp. All runs done on the same day to rule out any changes in temp or atmospheric interference.
Drivetrain loss is about 20%.
Stock: 170.52 HP
Tubes and Filters: 175.36 HP
Package: 196.41 HP
Before anyone goes and corrects me about the percentages I know the TQ and HP are off by different % of advertised numbers, I picked 20% as it was in the middle.
Pricing for the package will be $950.00 retail.
We will offer a Group Buy for the first 10 customers at an intro price of $750.00.
Both prices include free shipping to the continental USA.

When you get a chance, post some documentation & testimonials. You’ll probably do quite well for yourself.

How is the tune installed? Is there a flash tuner (programmer) available or do we have to remove the ECU and send it in?
I ask due to interest in returning to stock if needed.
Thanks

You will need to send us the ECU for the tuning. If it needs to be flashed back to stock we can do that for you as well. Figure typical downtime would be 3 days if overnighted to us and back.

Yeah, the problem is if it can't pass California smog and I have to keep taking the ECU out and shipping it back and forth.
On my Mustang I have a programmer that I can flash the ECU and return it to stock any time I need to. Too bad we don't have that for MBz.
I'd love to join the group buy but can't risk it on Wifey's grocery car.
Is it possible to get a second ECU, from a junkyard perhaps, and then keep one stock and get the other tuned? That would work great for me.
I'm not sure if the ECU is coded to the vehicle though.
Thanks for building this pack for the C240 guys !!

There should be no reason why you would fail CA smog test, but I understand your concerns. You can purchase a second ECU and have it programmed by MB to your car.
