My 16 years old friend is now looking for a car

http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/mer...z&distance=300
i found this out but i don't know about the mileage... but i saw some of you guys with the 05 had almost 150k miles no major problem or should she still stay out from european as first car and start with budget japanese car?
her dad offered me to sell my coupe for $20k in cash wtf
ever since the first time he saw my car modded like that he thought it worth some money but told him my coupe only worth 6-7k in the market now

if she's going to get a mercedes you should have her get one with cpo warranty. Honestly i think a mercedes is a bad first car. At her age you want something reliable and cheap to fix because more then likely she's probably going to get into at least one accident within the next 4yrs.
We all know the mercedes gremlins will come out sometime during the life of the car.
Maybe have her look at a base 05 rsx, tsx.

'04 Mars Red C230K Sport Coupe (not Coup-EH)
+3, except, in regards to safety, I'd go Benz over Corolla or Civic every time. However, for a first car, I would definitely go with something that's a bit more forgiving and more predictable (supercharged plus "learning" throttle is a bit different) than the C230.

I got a 2004 C230 Kompressor as my first car. $13,000, basically a steal from the SAAB dealership. Most of them around Chicago go for $20,000. A few reason as to why I go it.
1: Remember when house market started to fall? My dad took out almost all my saving to keep the houses we had. He owed me money.
2: I really really really wanted a 190E. It was obvious that it will have problems, and it would need to have repairs. He said he'd rather pay more for a car that wouldn't have any problems than to pay for constant repairs.
3: Gas prices were a real pain in the summer. He said to find a Benz with good mileage. Hahey, C230K fit the discription. So we checked it out, got it, and a warranty.
Before that, I drove my mom's 2003 ML 350 and a mini-van, which was sold to help pay for the sedan. Just my story.
