Rattling sounds in rear hatch?
for those people that have had this problem, has the dealer done anything to solve or mute the sound?i have had this problem since day 1,and they have replaced diferent parts and also a new hatch cover also and it still hasn't changed, the lasting thing was putting felt tape where the board sits and still rattles any insight would be great

I had a rattle that has been effectively addressed be the dealer. The source of the rattle / vibration was the interior plastic trim on the rear hatch across the spoiler area between the upper and lower windows. The dealer put some sort of foam insulation between the plastic trim piece and the hatch. I don't know if it was injected or if the trim piece was removed to insert the insulation. The "fix" did eliminate the problem.

yeah, the sound from the hacth is becuase of the lack of a rubber seal between the upper portion of the plastic piece, and the glass, so it freely rattles about. i talked to my advisor and they said they'll take care of it when i bring it in for service a in a couple of weeks (i dont want to bring it in an extra time just for that).

I cut a strip from some foam packaging material and inserted it between the trim piece and the window while waiting for my A service. This worked effectively as a temporary fix.

I hate to say this, but most Merceds interiors rattle one way oir another. I am speaking from my experience. I do not suggest you going back to dealer to have them trying to fix the problem. They just can't fix it. It just a waste of time going back to the dealer. In fact, they will make it worst, from my experience.
