D.I.Y. Aux-In on 2007 W203 (without the wiring harness) (Large Image Warning!)
have you tried calling up getmercedesparts.com directly? A 210 440 50 05 64
Been a lurker here for about a year and finally decided to join the conversation. I am doing the Aux input install and have to admit this is the Step by step DIY I've seen. I do have a question though and hope someone in the know is still monitoring this thread. My wiring harness has connections where the DIY has the connections being made..... can I use the unused pins on the other side, above the 10A fuse or or these pinned out differently. I'll attempt to upload some pics to help explain. Has anyone else had this issue? Looks like I will have to load pics seperately....... I dont want to apply any power until I get some info
Thanks
Funny thing is they couldn't product the invoice so I left without paying, they said I can. Then I went back to pay and still they couldnt find the original invoice. So a few weeks later and its still been free
. Dont get me wrong, I want to pay them but their accounts are not managed well it seams.

I ordered the cable harness this afternoon from one of those links someone posted.
I have yet to begin this project because I have yet to gather all the necessary materials. However I saw the step where we're instructed to solder the CDRom Audio cable to the harness cable.
Could someone please explain how exactly this is done... Also, i've looked for this cable online but the only ones I can seem to find are ones with 4 wires instead of 3 like the topic creator used.
I'll post more questions as they arise.
I greatly appreciate any and all help you guys can provide!
Thanks
I tried to find same solution for my car too. My car is w211_2007_ E 200 CDI. I know that this is not a C class but also i have Audio 20 Radio/CD sistem.
I don't know anyone tried too same solution to also W211 mercedes. I want to try it but my audio system doesn't pass to Aux-In when i hold on CDC button.
Differently, my car don't have CD changer. When i bought this car, ex owner take out this devices. Maybe becasue of this doesn't to pass to Aux-In mode.
Do you know somethig about this that it is possible or not to pass to Aux-in active mode if i dont have CD changer device. Because of i can't start Aux-In mode?
Thank you.
first off, many thanks for an excellent post!
just to add few quick notes, it is actually possible to buy a quadlock connector and solder a 3.5mm jack directly on to it... e.g. this: http://cdchangeremulator.com/connect...b/prod_65.html
or if you don't want to bother with soldering anything, you can buy a universal quadlock kit, e.g. this: http://cdchangeremulator.com/index.p...d&productId=67
and just insert the pins into the appropriate slots for the audio 20.
personally I build mine from scratch, soldering pins etc...
I have done the cable for my clk200 2007 without the wire harness and it works great with my ipod nano. To remove and reinstall the audio20 hu it took just over an hour.I routed the cable through an existing prehole into the center console where my ipod rests. Two things, ground should go to pin 11,and take care for adjacent pins not to touch.During my installation pins 4 and 5 were touching resulting that the CD and RADIO were not functioning.
Great thanks
I did solder a CD-ROM audio cable to the IS75 after removing its audio L/R RCA connectors. I followed this main post to find out where things were and how to get to them, but wasn't installing the Aux MB cable so much of it wasn't relevant for me. Once I got the dash apart, the only issue I found was finding space for the IS75 module but found a spot near the ashtray. I also tapped the IS75's power off of the nearby cigarette lighter power.
Hope this helps but let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi again,
I am just about to start this project, but would you be able to tell me what connections you soldered between the RCA cables and CD rom cables. Like which wires did you solder for ground in the RCA cable etc. I stripped the RCA cable and found wires followed by another insulated core. What do I do with the outer wires? Sorry, I am fairly new at this but am dying for an aux input in my car so your help is much appreciated!
Like most 07 drivers, i was happy to get the facelift, but disappointed not only do we not get AUX, we don't even get the infamous white harness! At first OP's solution appears daunting, but i assure you, it's actually EASIER THAN IT LOOKS!!! And the best part, you can get ALL your supplies from the dollar store!!!!
I inquired about the harness cable at the local toronto MercStealership, and it was 72.50CAD + tax. But after some research, it looks like this cable is just a very expensive AUX cable... so stealing from others on this forum, i made my own cable from RCA cables. (you can technically make this cable using aux wires, but i already made mine by the time i realized...) The job is easy, and my high school electronics course finally paid off.
1.) find an old cd-rom audio cable. i stole mine from a local electronics recycling depot... and find a male to male RCA cable
2.) cut both in half, and strip away the insulations
3.) the RCA is going to have 4 lines, the red, white, and the ground on each red/white. the ground is the copper that is surrounding each of the red/white. Twist the two grounds together to form one wire, and space out your red/white/ground wire.
4.) strip the cd cable as well, and twist the two sets of cables together such that white - white, red - red, and black - ground.
5.) Get a soldering iron ($1.50 at dollar store) and solder each wire together, and then apply hot glue ($2.50 glue gun at dollar store) to not only protect the wires, but to add insulation. I know pros use heat sink and wire tubing... but i m just not that good... but i think glue gun works just as well.
6.) Test it! the best way to test is to open up your pc, plug that cd rom cable into your cd rom, and your RCA to your headphone using a RCA - 3.5mm audio adapter ($1 from dollar store). Put a CD into your computer, and set your computer to play analog audio http://support.microsoft.com/kb/266035
and set your windows media player to play analog audio http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306706
if everything is set up correctly, you should hear your cd playing from your headphones!
7.) take apart your head unit as described here:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...tructions.html
8.) connect your audio cables to pin 5, 6, 12 and test your audio device. if your cable works, this should be perfectly fine too.
9.) for me, instead of taking out the glove box and doing all that.. i instead drilled a hole in the ash tray and led my wire out from there. That glove box removal looks like it is too much work.
10.) put everything back in place and you are done!!!!
11.) to-do for me... i m going to get a bluetooth receiver next from a friend. Once I have that, i should be able to get it to auto connect to my phone everytime i m in the car, and I would just use that to play music, without even taking my phone out!!!
Hopefully this helps anyone that is reading this and is still on the fence about doing it.
Total cost:
solder iron - $1.50
glue gun - $2.50
RCA - 3.5mm - $1.00
T-20 screw driver - $7.00!!! this was the most expensive thing i had to buy. I could return it now that i m done, but i m too happy about my dyi job to care..

Total cost: $12 CAD + tax

.... and yes... my C230 is in STICK
too bad MB gave up on the stick business, you can't find a stick in any of the 2012 cars anymore...
