Let's see if we can get back to cars.

In reverse gear - a friend's 72 Caddy, about 35mph.

On black ice (not sure it counts as driving, though) - 81 Chevy, about 75mph (nearly required a change of underwear )

scary...

Cars get very unstable (twitchy) backwards at higher speeds... Never, never designed for such things. I do not suggest this for you mortals among us.

No high speed runs myself. I did notice when pulling out of the drive, that the digital and analog speedos both register a positive mph while in reverse. FYI I hit 4mph.

If you go too fast in reverse with the passenger mirror in "dipped for parking mode" it will return to normal mode if you go too fast. I have noticed this in my C but I have not noted the speed in reverse at which this happens. I have occasionally reversed in haste to grab a parking spot on the streets and that is when I noticed this beharior.
