what's this

we need a thread where people can post random questions without creating a new one every time, any case here's a another question from me.

What does this need to be plugged into?

While working on my car today i notice that this was unplugged, where does it go. I looked up the part number a034 545 53 28 which lists it as Pin bushing housing/ windshield/headlamp washer 2-pin.

thanks guys

Im gonna assume your bix were installed after you purchased the car....

I bet its something to do w/ powering the coupe light washers that would normally come w/ factory installed bix. (think about the lil triangle on the bumper below the low/high beams usually on sedans)

Nothing more than an extreme layman's speculation, but I would suppose that the number crunchers determined that it was more cost-effective to manufacture all cars with the wiring harness necessary for a BIX/headlamp washer option, even if the car was not going to actually have that option installed. Perhaps in the production process it was cheaper to just make one wiring harness for all models and install them all exactly the same way, rather than having two different harnesses to install (one for BIX and one without). Just a guess.

my wife's minivan (toyota) did not have foglights but I added the OEMs and all the wires and plugs were already there.

The BiX where from inception of W203 in the rest of the world. Mine's 03. USA was treated differently for things like BiX, Parktronic, Distronic, Linguatronic etc.

There was also Zenon with frosted covers in the USA. Never saw that here even on Coupe.

Everything is operated by water pressure & the pump including flaps.
