"RN-" display?
You either have a bad display (doesn't look like its the display, but can't really say for sure) or a bad controller for the display (which would be the gauge cluster itself). I guess it could also be the TCU, but I would expect a problem with the cluster itself to be more likely.
Maybe you'll get lucky and it's just a software issue that will fix itself with a reboot - I would try pulling and replacing all the relevant fuses (for TCU, ECU, and the cluster itself). Obviously you could just pull neg battery cable, but that seems to be a bad idea unless absolutely necessary with these cars, and even then its a much better idea to plug a small 12V battery in parallel when changing the original to prevent any power loss / surge.
