Chrome window sill/trim

I'm looking to get the horizontal chrome trim that goes at the top of the roors/right below the windows. Most newer luxury cars have em, and i'm not talking about getting chrome pillars, that's tacky i know.

I have a 2004 w203, anyone know of a place where i can buy chrome mouldings to replace the black below the side windows?

I.ve never seen a full chrome shoulder moulding. Does your car have the black with chrome strip highlight that is on post facelift cars? I think these look best.

You can buy the black & chrome strip for facelift from any dealer. There might be cheaper sources on the internet.

Really, I will have a closer look. I can't imagine why. The door pressings did not change

I'd love being able to put these on, been thinking about it since I got my car in 04' and 6 months later the 05's came out.

That's what I was thinking but I denno...When I asked him about them he said
"that's a different model than yours" but i asked about that about a year ago before I had any experience with the w203s so I didn't even press the issue..

I'll find out but it makes no sense. He was probably just saying it does not match the VIN - not that it won't fit but let's make sure. The door shoulder trims with chrome strip were launched in March 1994 in South Africa.

keep me posted if anyone finds out anything, i imagine we could get at least 10-15 people together for a group buy on these. its quite subtle and really updates and luxuriates (don't hate on the new word) our older w203's w/out being ghetto.

the face lifted window trim fits any W203 sedan fine. your service adviser is an idiot.

you don't need a part number. just go to the dealership parts dept and describe the parts and most of them are more than willing to help you look for it.

Thanks Frank, you beat me to it & I only noticed yesterday the you have them fitted to your car - Is it an easy fitment without damaging paint? I'd like to change mine but living at coast I always have to consider rusting if they damage the paint under the trim.

Your SA is indeed an idiot - My service manager, in typical South African style, said Bulls--t - They fit any W203. He has them fitted to his wifes car.

This may be dumb, and no, I didn't search yet, but is there a DIY on this window trim that Frank swapped out on his W203? I think if someone does get this trim and puts it on their car, there should be a DIY. Actually, I'll go do a search right now.

EDIT: I just noticed PAYPABOI did somewhat of a write up on removing and replacing these trim pieces.

Yes...it is very easy. if you have the replacement parts it would only take you about 30min to swap them all out and replace them. except the vertical trim on the 2 rear passanger windows...i couldn't figure out how to take those off...

Alright guys i need to employ your help again, i called up 2 dealers asking about the horizontal window sill/ledge part with the chrome and both were clueless. One guy said he found the part for the ledge but it said 01 plus, and to find it in chrome he'd have to know the color code for it?

Anyone who's bought it or had luck locating the part, do you know a part number or the description that they would use to identify it in their computer systems?

ITB - There is only one answer with these dealers. Don't worry - I have the same trouble here. My service guys are great but spares suck. Tell them it is the shoulder trim post facelift - They will probably still not understand.

Find a post facelift car standing in the street that has the Chrome strips. Go and take down the vehicle's VIN Number shown in the corner of the windscreen.. Then go to the stupid dealer & say you want strips for a car with that VIN Number. Then they can't get it wrong. This is what I have resorted to.

I'm sure someone will help you with a VIN or go to your dealer's service Dept & take it off of a car being serviced.

thx for the pic cintoman. its such a subtle mod, one of the few mods you can do to the side of the car that isn't tacky...besides getting rims of course.

i'm gonna use Autotrader.com to search for a 2006-2007 c-class with the chrome, and use the vin number they list on there to reference to a dealer. i was quoted ~$150 for the ledge piece in black...hopefully they don't charge much more for the chrome one...but who cares, i need to make my car look a tad more up to date.
