2003 C230K Coupe Orion Blue
W203 2003 Sedan + Coupe - brakes interchangeable?

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone knows if these sedan brake parts will fit on a coupe. Both are 2003. Dealer says no, but I have no idea how hard the parts guy looked. Seller's in USA and I'm in Canada, so dunno if they'll use different part numbers?

Pads A0034206020 & A0034202820
Rotors A2034210512 & A2104231012

Thanks!

Punching those pn's into the EPC would answer the question.
I'm going with, that in 2003, they were the same, not till they went with the
larger calipers that they were different. But not absolutely sure.
But I don't see any distinction on any sites for that year for brakes between
coupe and sedan as I was recently looking at rear brakes, but turns out I still have at least 10K worth of pad left.

Being the nice guy I am, and knowing you can't sign up for EPC in Canada,
I looked it up for you.
All those pn's are correct for 2003 coupe.

Only other thing you need is the sensor

C230 Sport Coup, Thank you so much. All the part numbers are different in Canada for some reason!!!

So you are saying that ALL MY2003 W203s (sedan and coupe, both non-AMG) use the same rotors and pads? Please confirm as I am about to drop some coin (without being able to physically check other than looking at some photos) on these parts listed above. If you need a VIN, let me know.

When did MY2003 start doing big calipers? I know they changed them for 2004.5..

All the pn's you posted are listed as being appropriate for a coupe for all of North America.
If you got those numbers from a sedan, than the answer would be yes, they are the same.
No big calipers in 2003, like you said, 2004.5.

C230 Sport Coup,

How did you get the part numbers? From fidding with EPC..
For the front rotor I only have 03-12 listed as Code 494. 05-12 is NOT listed as 494.
For the rear rotor, all parts have been supeseded by 01-12 (494).

I went on the assumption that the brakes on your car are the same as mine (when stock) and used my VIN initially. It's supposed to be for all of North America. I guess you are saying thats not true.
I do my best to help people out. I spent an hour or more trying to help you out...
Sorry.
EPC can be confusing as you are now seeing, so many overlapping pn's even when you enter a specific VIN.
Only the dealer knows for sure which one is right. And sometimes you just have to go to the dealer, ask for a pn, and look at it to make sure or call.

^It's funny, the Dealer was saying the same thing. His EPC also showed 2 possible parts for my car, and said that unless someone specified the part #, it's possible he could sell them the wrong ones too, and that only experience is the only way to know which is which without testfitting. The MB parts system is awesome.

C230 Sport Coup, does your car have the C7 package from the factory?

For Canada, C-coupes were sold either with or without an Evolution Package (your equivalent of a C7). My particular car does not have it. Maybe US cars have it as standard? (someone chime in)

This is what my dealer has told me for my car. (2003, NO C7 or 4matic)

Front rotor: A203-421-03-12
Front pad: A003-420-95-20

Rear rotor: A210-423-09-12 (since replaced by 01-12)
Rear pad: A003-420-27-20

Yes, I have the C7 package, but here in the US that didn't include any changes to the brakes that I'm aware of.
I spent some time on the phone with a tech rep at Akebono
in Kentucky, trying to sort the different pads. (Rear)
There is a "sport" and then normal.
We finally came to the conclusion that it was just the normal ones,
the "sport" wasn't included on any US version coupes.
I think they're referring to the rear brakes on the C32 which are slightly different.
