2002 C230 coupe
I haven't seen any upated 0-60 times for 03 C class models. They're not on the web site or in the new C class brochure. I'm curious as to what times Mercedes would publish for the C230 coupe with the 1.8L and now the new C320 coupe and C230 sedan.

The 2002 C320 sedan does 0-60 in 6.9, so I would say the six speed C320 coupe or sedan is going to do it in about 6.6. The sedan may be quicker. The C230k six speed sedan is 65 pounds lighter than the coupe according MBUSA.

So you think it will be a competitor for the BMW 330 CI. If so i think has them beat, except in the handling departament. But especially on the price

i have tried the max. speed on the C320 2001 model with 218 ps
(german spec.) On the paper it says 245Km, but 255Km was not a problem with the car.

Then how come you didn't let me go faster than 230km/h with the loaner C320 when your C320 was in the shop Michael? :p

I don't think the C320 Coupe will be any faster) than the C320 Sedan. For one, there is less than a 100lb difference (which suprises me), secondly, the C320 Coupe comes with 17" wheels while the sedan 16" which should help the sedan with acceleration. I am not sure about the gear ratios, but they are probably the same both for 6 Speeds, the only item which could make a difference is the final drive ratio, where the couple might be geared a tad higher (numerically) for better acceleration...but then I could be wrong and the C320 Coupe might smoke the Sedan...we will see once a car magazine or someone gets a hold of the coupe.

The C320 comes 16" whhels as standard with 17" wheels available in the C7/Evolution package. The C320 Sports Sedan has 17" wheels as standard. The diameter on the wheels with tires is almost identical, so the will be no difference in acceleration due to wheel/tire diameter.

I would guess that the transmission and differential gears will be the same. Since the six speed Coupe is 55 pounds lighter it will have a slight advantage in acceleration.

The Sedan has a coefficient of drag of 0.27 while that of the Coupe is 0.29. If Vmax were removed, the Sedan would have a slightly higher top speed.

It is interesting that the C230k sedan is lighter than the C230k coupe, but the C320 Sport Sedan is heavier than the C320 Sport Coupe. It appears than the extra standard equipment adds 120 pounds in the six speed C320 Sports Sedan over the C230k Sports Sedan. For the automatics, the difference is 85 pounds. It appears the the 320 engine is 135 pounds heavier than the 230k. These are based on the weights of the cars as given the the specifications at mbusa.com.
