We've updated our reliability stats for the C-Class to include owner experiences through the end of 2014. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2007 C-Class: 8, low, small sample size
2006 C-Class: 52, low, small sample size
2005 C-Class: 84, moderate, small sample size
2004 C-Class: 68, low, very small sample size
2003 C-Class: 74, low, very small sample size
2002 C-Class: 110, moderate, small sample size
2001 C-Class: 65, low, very small sample size

We'll have further updates in May and in August. As suggested by the sample size notes, additional participants for the W203 would be very helpful. Existing members are more likely to sell than buy cars of this age, so we need new participants to keep providing these stats.

So, how have these cars been doing lately?

Our reliability stats for the C-Class now include owner experiences through March 31, 2015. (Others are nearly a year behind.)

In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year ("low" is best):

2007 C-Class: 16, low, small sample size
2006 C-Class: 44, low, small sample size
2005 C-Class: 95, moderate, small sample size
2004 C-Class: 59, low, very small sample size
2003 C-Class: 55, low, very small sample size
2002 C-Class: 79, low, small sample size
2001 C-Class: 65, low, very small sample size

As suggested by the sample size notes, additional participants would be very helpful. Next updates in August and November.

Our reliability stats for the C-Class now cover the year ending June 30, 2015. (Others are over a year behind, and so report how these cars were doing when a year younger.)

Repair trips per 100 cars:

2007 C-Class: 29, low, very small sample size
2006 C-Class: 38, low, small sample size
2005 C-Class: 67, low, small sample size
2004 C-Class: 53, low, very small sample size
2003 C-Class: 53, low, very small sample size
2002 C-Class: 66, low, small sample size
2001 C-Class: 67, low, very small sample size

As suggested by the sample size notes, additional participants would certainly help.

C230 reliability issues

I have a 2007 with several problems: broken door handles, transmission control plate replaced at 46K but of course outside of warranty and now fuel leaks after filling up. I've driven MBZ since '81 and I think they are slipping in quality/ build and dealer response. When I read about the number of owners with the same problems it makes me feel that this is becoming an expensive and annoying little car and may be my last MBZ. Comments are welcome!

Most of the 2007s in our survey have been pretty good, but then our sample size is (as noted below) very small. As far as I can tell, though, MB's quality has been improving since bottoming out in the late 1990s / early 2000s.

We have updated our reliability stats for the C-Class to include owner experiences through September 30, 2015. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year:

2007 C-Class: 44, low, very small sample size
2006 C-Class: 43, low, very small sample size
2005 C-Class: 73, moderate, small sample size
2004 C-Class: 81, moderate, very small sample size
2003 C-Class: 55, low, very small sample size
2002 C-Class: 58, low, small sample size

We'll have further updates in February and in May. Additional participants are needed to provide precise stats for all model years.

We've updated our reliability stats for the C-Class to include owner experiences through the end of 2015, about eight months ahead of other sources. In terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year--lower is better:

2007 C-Class: 37, low, very small sample size
2006 C-Class: 25, low, small sample size
2005 C-Class: 74, moderate, very small sample size
2004 C-Class: 90, moderate, very small sample size
2003 C-Class: 61, low, very small sample size
2002 C-Class: 67, low, small sample size

No stat, or a small sample size? Then we especially need more participants for that model year.
