Question Service A

Just dropped my 230coupe off for Service A. Was asked if I wanted to rotate tires and balance wheels. Informed that the charge would be $83. I said OK but thought this was a bit of a rip off.

Anybody get charged for this (I'm not complaining about the fact that there is a charge) and if so, how much? Thanks.

well, seeing how the balance and alignment are covered for the first 12000 miles or 1 year, i would *****. if they are going to remove the wheels to check balance then they can rotate them for free. i would not pay it, they are trying to rip you off.

Have had the car more than a year -- is it whichever is longer? What is the source of this -- basic warranty?

In service A the dealer did not rotate the tires on my car but at service B they did. It was included in the price of the service. I don't know how it is done in the U.S but in Canada we have to pay like $290 for Service A and $390-$400 For Service B.

In the US, the cost of Service A and Service B for the first four years are included in the price of the car and, therefore, they appear to be free. That is the major reason why Mercedes' are cheaper in Canada.
