Talking help on rims

hey guys i want to get the C32 rims on my car.

what you guys think?

how much it would cost? (rims, tires, springs, etc)

im also looking at the brabus monoblock 4, lorinser lm5, and carlsson 2/5

out of these rims which ones would you choose?

i want either 17s or 18s, how is the ride comfort? i dont want to have too much stiffness. but do want some sportiness and cornering ability

also is there anyother manufacturer making rims exclusively for mercedes?

Since you like the C32 rims, here's what you should do. All that money that you are willing to spend on getting Brabus, Lorinser, or Carlsson wheels, spend that money on:

C32 rims and tires from TireRack, probably the cheapest place to get them, and they will come with tires mounted already.

Then get the lowering springs if that is what you want.

And then I would get the AMG front and rear bumpers and side skirts. I think you can get these from autoclass.net. You can probably get all this for less than getting Brabus wheels. And your car will look great, just like a C32. But just don't put the AMG badge on there, or else don't talk about it here. You won't live it down.

under the Classified section...

someone is selling 5 (don't ask me why 5!) 17' C32 with 4 Pilot Sport for $2000 (if my memory does fails me)

brabus mono 4 is not that great...5 or 6 is ok..

carlsson 2/5 is alright..

whatever your choice..go for 18.

the rims came with the C32 is 17s, but AMG have the same style in 18s (like those on the new E55, S55, and CL55).

hate to say this, but the dual-spoke rims (C32 rims, which ever you want to call it) is probably the next cheapest AMG rims out there.

personally I would get the C32 rims (if i don't have it) just because it's cheap relatively speaking.

ride comfort is pretty much like any other 17" rims. Low profile tires definitely will help handling, but lose some comfort. If you don't have the sport pkg, you probably don't have to worry about losing a lot of ride comfort.

just be mindful the c32 front rim, at 17x7.5, the face of the rim sticks out farther than the tire AND the rim...so u have to be extra careful on the curbs. saw one c32 with the factory protective plastic tape and plastic brake shield still in place, at the dealer for checkup before going to the showroom, and it already had a ding on one of the spokes...just something to think about. good luck!

yes, I want those 18s too. But once the size gone up to 18" the price of the rims almost doubles the original. The 7.5x18 cost around $400 and the 8.5 cost around almost $500.

after carefully scrutinizing the 17s from the 18s they look a bit different. the c32 ones seem to curve a little. the s55 and cl55 ones seem to have less of a curve. buts its cool, still want 18s though. so technically i want the s55/cl55 rims

cant get a price anywhere though, if anyone can get me a price it would be cool

also what would be the best tires?

Ed

PS silva c32 what is BG and SPP

go search on the 203 forum. there was a C-coupe owner had the 18" dual-spoke for his car. I think he had listed the price that he paid for those.

btw, because of different offset the 18" for C will actually have the lips like the 17". Notice that those 18" on E, S, and CL has spokes that connects right to the edge of the rim.
