stalling issues...
heres the problem i've been noticing. tell me if its normal so i could stop worrying about it. as i drive while having the a.c. on and only when the a.c. is on, as soon as i stop at a light or nearly stopping at the light the rpms go down pretty low to where u could feel the car wanting to stall. i feel that stalling feeling but it doesnt stall. what could it be? 85000 miles on the car already. 05 c230. i'll be taking it into the dealers tomorrow to see if they could somehow replace my cAM sensors. still have warranty.

Frequently this is a symptom of lambda (O2) sensors getting lazy & cycling too slowly - leads to hesitation, surging, poor idle - near stalling until the ECU gives things a kick up to correct the idle speed. Lambda sensors only have a useful life of about 50,000 miles before being out of spec.
Is the car using slightly more fuel than usual? Trouble is that the deterioration is slow so this is sometimes difficult to judge.

u know what i checked that out this morning and didnt really know what i was looking for. all i notice is black dusty substance forming on the bottom of the cam sensors. i called the dealer this morning to see if they would cover it. so i'll be bringing it in tomorrow.

yup!!
this is what i posted on my last thread that i have done already..
ive'd gotten my pcv hose replaced already. i took it in again and they replaced a vent hose. then i took it in and they replaced a vacuum pump and a transconnector. when i picked up my car they told me that i have a worn breather hose that needs to be replaced. i asked why they couldnt of had replaced that as well with the warranty. they tell me that the breather hose is a wear and tear. and not covered. they told me it would cost me $500 to replace.

thx glyn for that post. that will be totally useful for me. i should be getting the cables in some time this week. ordered them on thursday. so i picked up my car today and still they found no leaking cam sensor. they say mercury warranty will not replace them unless they are leaking. is there any way to make it look as if they are leaking. i only have 10000 miles left till my warranty is up. service pretty much replaced my engine mounts, tranny mounts, and sway bar links. all under warranty.

Plugs & fuel filter are both very simple jobs. Do that & see what the result is. If they are both original it could be the problem & at least it's cheap to find out. If it's not that I'm still suspicious of your O2 sensors.

wow, i cant believe how many ppl have this problem. I didnt realize till my friend sat in my car and told me "dude, when ur car is idling, it almost feels like it is about to stall"
so i took it to the dealership today and they were all, $150 for diagnostic charge. WTF?! lol. It turns out that I'm out of warranty so I have to fix all of this myself or trade in one of my livers to get it fixed by the dealerrship
So, I have been reading the forums about this and it seems like there could a crap load of things that might be wrong and for a novice like me to pinpoint it, well impossible. lol.
So i was hoping to leverage ur guys expertise to help me out and if any of u guys are in so-cal, maybe i could meet up with u guys and help me do any fixes if possible, since like i mentioned before, im a newb! lol
thanks up front!
