akebono FRONT pads part#? 05c230k
ok ive looked everywhere and every store only seems to have these for the rears and not for the fronts. i read in a thread here that there is some confusion over which akebono pads fit on the fronts. i have an 05 c230k coupe.
does anyone know the correct part number that fits for my car? also which rotors have people gone with?

Try buybrakes.com and click on "Shop by Vehicle" on the top left of the home page to enter your model info. Front pads for the 230SS with two piston calipers are not easy to find. If that is what you have, your pad size (not part number), is 1121 for the fronts.
I replaced my OEM front and read pads with Axxis Ceramics and got both from buybrakes. Good customer support and knowledge. Hawk also makes these pads for the front, and a few others, but you have to search. Rears are easier to find. Ceramic pads have been great, no compromise in braking integrity and best of all no dust!

Why don't you try Porterfield R4-S. They are readily available if a little pricey. They are highly considered.

Any experience with EBC Redstuff - They are a low dust highish temp pad?

Out Of Control!!
I think that there have been a couple of people here who have not liked their Redstuffs - complaints about rotor scoring and noise, if I remember correctly.
I have the R4-S's on my car now; nice pads, but no hole for sensor, if that's a concern to anyone. I'll probably get the akebono ceramics when I get the C32 brakes done.

I hve the greenstuff's on my p-car and they're kind of noisy - they'll start to squeak after you've been driving around and get them warm/hot. I was going to get the redstuff's, but EBC recommended getting the greenstuff's. I called back after I wasn't thrilled with and they said I should have gotten the redstuff's (!!??!!). They offered me a deal on the redstuff's, but their deal was more $$ than tirerack's normal price, and had nothing to say when I politely let them know! BTW, the brake job was done correctly w/re-surfaced rotors, etc. I still have them on and they stop just fine (tested the ABS system from 100+ several times), but I'm definitely going to use something else when I get around to it.

I was about to get some but I want all my sensors operational. damn!!!!
I'm on my second set of stocks - They are excellent but the dust has an adverse effect on my disposition.

I love my redstuff pads. They squeaked a fair amount for the first couple hundred miles, but are fine now. The initial bite is fine when they are cold/cool, but they are even better after a little bit of use. It goes w/o being said that there is a lot less dust than OEM.
I put these on a month or two ago at the same time I installed the SS brake lines.

Bump - Are you running stock discs? Do the redstuffs accommodate the pad sensors all round? Do they still use shims?
