On the same section of the harness as the drivers headlight plug, there is a 2 wire connector (brown and red/brown wires). Its only long enough to plug into something close to the headlight.
I found it disconnected, and would like to know what it is. My car has had the engine replaced, and this isn't the first connector I've found not hooked up (they forgot to hookup my horn!)
I am not in the US, so please don't suggest the free login to the MB tech manual, you need a US CC with a US postal code.

I've had a good look and these are some possibilities - They might be on the harness but not in use depending on what is fitted to your car. I've only looked at 2 pin connectors - I have not considered the parktronic harness - I think that would be obvious. I have no way of checking colouring.
Manual headlamp range adjustment
Headlamp washer nozzle heaters
Headlamp cleaning system - Unlikely - RHS wheelarch & apart from the heaters - all connections are in the wheelarch. The mechanism is activated by water pressure

amanonfire - on the front slam panel there are 2 catches. under the right catch you should see a switch - visable by a metal strip. That triggers the cluster - you can trace the wire.
Is your cluster showing a hood open warning???
