most of the time when you have any kind of buzzinr or ringing, it's either a bad ground or a damaged rca. since you don't have rca cables, my guess would be a bad ground. however, i guess your line level could be damaged also. is the sound present with the engine on an off? also, does it change pitch or tone depending on the rpms of the engine.

as far as the fading issue- i can't help there. i can't picture how exactly you wired everything up.

I wouldn't imagine I have a bad ground, I use some of the left over 4 gauge cable and used the ground next to the rear SAM/fuse block on the left side of the trunk. The ringing sound is not present with the engine off, it does not change pitch with engine RPM. However, I did notice it got louder when my headlights were on in the morning (they are HID headlights if that matters) and on the way home when the headlights were not on I noticed it got louder when I pressed the brake pedal. I'm more worried about this annoying sound than the fade issue.

sounds like a power issue...do you have an amp for mids? that sound is usually a low power aka low voltage...music sounds faded and crunchy

yup, i have a similar problem. also from time to time my ABS and ESP lights up due to low voltage. probably need a new batt or a stronger alternator. OR capacitor!

one question. i just realized earlier today while i was detailing my car when i was cleaning the radio i accidentaly pressed the power button and it turned on but no sound coz the car is off and no keys on ignition. what could this be? the ignition switch? i have OEM stereo.

I forgot to update this thread, but I had a guy at work (who used to install systems for a living) listen to it, and he told me I need to get rid of the hi-level input. So I bought a converter and some RCA cables and I pulled the radio and wired it in and put it just above the brake pedal. I've only driven the car once since I did that, and it sounded like the sound was gone except for when the headlights are on (and the sound is much quieter). I think the rain will be gone tomorrow and I'll drive it again to make sure.

It is supposed to be like that. If you had the full factory system, you would get sound. Since we have to wire the aftermarket amp into something that comes on with the key, there is no sound. When I do it now, the tweeters will come on since I left those wired to the factory radio.
