I got the 55w to avoid any errors.. and sure enough, no errors. I was certain a 35w kit would cause problems with the OBD in the car detecting the difference between 35w HID and 55w halogen.

"ya'll ordering the single or double light [beam]" is what i deduced from that.

i think i'm gonna order from apexcone.com and get 55W 6000k like you guys...sucks trading in my car now with OEM bi-x's to get a newer c230 w/ halogens...but i think i'll make it work.

sorry to keep hijacking this thread...but does anyone know about retro-solutions?

they claim to have the "best focused bulb" as well as offering an anti-glare coating on the bulb

but its also more than twice as much as the DDR kits

The headlight lens focuses the bulb and manages the glare. My Apexcone DDM 55w 6000k kit has been flawless and I can highly recommend it.

What is a striped message?

I get no errors with the H7 55w kit.

I have stock fogs and no interest in making my fogs HID.

If you get a 35w kit you will need to get resistors or you'll get bulb out warnings and possible flickering.

Do you still have high beams after installing the single beam HID kit?

I don't believe I was talking to you at ANY point during this entire thread. The fact that you have had no issues with a 35w kit makes you an exception to the general rule. Again, please re-read it and see that I was not talking to you. Got it? Good.

As for the question about high beams:

The W203 has separate bulbs for low and high beams, so yes you will keep your high beams.

This thread is all abt this particular HID brand that comes with 35W. Then why u mentioned that 35 w will have fault light issue? So i think i have to clear the air here and not to confused anymore ppl reading this thread!
If u dont get it, u will never do!!! Got it???

LOL okay so when i started this thread it was to inform everyone that this kit in the link on page one which is 35W does NOT throw error messages, does NOT flicker, does NOT need resistors.

As blackmercs took my word and bought them for his w204 (i have a w203!) he has the same experiance i do!

I only got these bc they were so cheap that if they didn't work i could care less. But since another member told me about them and how they worked for 2 yrs with no problems I decided to share the knowledge. So we are not exceptions to the rule, the kit just works great

Can't we all play nice?

I was recommending a particular kit to IntoTheBlue up above and my point about the 35w VS 55w is for anyone who has read the 1400ish posts in the HID thread on this W203 forum should know that the vast majority of people who have installed 35w kits get errors. It's great that you do not, but most people do. VVME is mentioned a few times in that long thread and members have gotten errors with their kits as well. The thing about the W203 is that everyone has slightly different experiences.. even when they do the same thing as another member. There is a guy on here with a white 2005 C230 who got errors with a 55w kit. It's different for every car, it seems. So all I was saying is just because a 35w kit worked for you (and the W204 guy) does not mean it will work for everyone. You have a better shot at not getting errors if you get a 55w kit. That's my whole point - and I was trying to tell that to a particular person in this thread and not to dispute your results.

What's so special about the 5000k one? I mean, why do you seem to prefer it over the other ones and why is it $15 more?

Can you post more pics of your kit?

Thanks!!!

NP! will do tonight! have to align it anyway. yeah i got the 35w. installed both fogs and low just now. works fine. just hard to look for a place for the ballasts. no errors no nothing. will test it properly tonight.

FOR EVERYONES INFO = I HAVE STOCK FROSTED HEADLIGHTS AND STOCK FROSTED FOGLAMPS, BOTH WITHOUT FACTORY HID.

testing if its ok without projectors first. then if its a bad beam ill get projector housings.
